If you're a fan of Sophia Bush, then this is probably your first and last visit to /Film. Star of the hit CW show One Tree Hill, Bush has moved onward to a rather mediocre career in Hollywood. To say she's starred in a few bad films would be understating it a bit. Bush's filmography includes John Tucker Must Die, Stay Alive, Supercross, Van Wilder and the new reamke of The Hitcher. So if you're looking for a cute chick for your video game or horror remake/adaptation, she is the go to girl.
When IESB reported that hack science fiction writer/director Joss Whedon was considering Bush for his upcoming adaptation of the DC comic book Wonder Woman, it sounded rather fitting.
When confronted about the rumor while doing press for The Hitcher, Bush just smiled and said "We'll See," adding fuel to the fire. I think this is bad news for Whedon fans. In my opinion, expecting a good movie based on the Wonder Woman character would be asking for a miracle. And I hate to say this but, Whedon far from capable. Singer may-be. Jackson possibly. Even Tarantino could easily mess up such a delicate project. But I'll tell you this, if Bush is cast as Wonder Woman, fear the worst, and even then you'll probably still be disappointed.
A founding member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman was co-created in 1941 by William Moulton Marston and wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston. According to DC comics, Wonder Woman stands 6 ft and weighs 165 lb, but she is frequently depicted as being the same height as the 6 ft 3in Superman.
According to Wikipedia: Wonder Woman is Princess Diana of the Amazon warrior tribe of Greek mythology. The Amazon ambassador to the larger world, Diana was awarded several gifts by the Olympian gods, including the Lasso of Truth (created from the Golden Girdle of Gaea) and indestructible bracelets/gauntlets (formed from the shield Aegis).
Joss Whedon has said that he is looking for someone between 18 and 30 to play the part. Sophia Bush turns 25 later this year.
