The official Japanese Warner Bros website has released a combined trailer for Clint Eastwood's next two movies. You can check out the trailer at this link. From the look of things, these movies will both be up for multiple Academy Awards.
Flags of Our Fathers follows the life stories of the six men who raised the flag atIwo Jima, a turning point in World War II. The film stars: Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Bradford, Adam Beach, Paul Walker, Jamie Bell, Barry Pepper and John Benjamin Hickey.
Red Sun, Black Sand tells the story of the same battle, but as told from the perspective of the Japanese. The movie stars Ken Watanabe as real-life Japanese General Tadamichi Kuribayashi, who battled American troops for 40 days on the small island of Iwo Jima.
Crash writer and Academy Award winner Paul Haggis wrote Flags with William Broyles (Jarhead) and Sand with Iris Yamashita. Both films are produced by Eastwood, Steven Spielberg and Rob Lorenz.
Flags of Our Fathers will be released nationwide on October 20th 2006.
