A few weeks ago, we reported that Samuel L.Jackson may re-team with his Star Wars co-star Hayden Christensen in Doug Liman's Jumper. Well it is now official.

Jumper is based on the Steven Gould novel, which follows a kid (played by Tom Sturridge) from a broken home who discovers that he has the ability to teleport. He begins a quest to find the man he believes is responsible for the death of his mother, but draws the attention of the National Security Agency and another youth (played by Jamie Bell) with the same abilities.

Jackson will play the NSA agent who is on the trail of the kid.

Doug Liman is directing David S. Goyer's screenplay. Goyer wrote Batman Begins and the Blade series. Lineman made his name with Swingers. He went on to direct Go, The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Tom Sturridge appeared in Vanity Fair, Being Julia, and the upcoming Gregory J. Read crime thriller, Like Minds. Jamie Bell made his name as Billy Elliot in the film with the same title, and went on to star in The Chumscrubber and King Kong. Teresa Palmer (The Grudge 2) also has a role in the film.

Christensen's filmography includes: Star Wars Episode I-III, Life as a House, The Virgin Suicides, and Shattered Glass.

The plan is for this to be the first in "an effects-laden trilogy." The Hollywood Reporter says that shooting will take place in Tokyo, Rome, Toronto and New York.
