Roger Avary has signed on to write and direct a feature film adaptation of the video game Driver. This will be Avary's second attempt at bringing a video game to the big screen. Avary penned the screenplay for the survival horror video game movie Silent Hill, which hits theaters this Friday.
Avary is an accademy award winner for co-writing
Pulp Fiction. This will not be his first time behind the camera, having had critical acclaim for
Killing Zoe, and film geek acclaim for his adaptation of Bret Eaton Ellis'
Rules of Attraction. Projects currently in production include Robert Zemeckis'
Beowulf (out next year) and his second Ellis adaptation -
Glamorama (2007?).
