We’ve posted a few videos from the guys at How It Should Have Ended in past editions of VOTD (Video of the Day). Their latest episode takes an animated look at how JJ AbramsStar Trek should have ended. Watch it now, after the jump.

    That was epic.

Actually, them being stuck and going through the wormhole would have been a pretty cool ending.

This is just not funny. Stupid, in fact.
  • HA! Loved it. Was worried there for a second that they were going to go with the "Lost in Space" movie ending.

What I want to know about the real ending, is if one drop of the red matter can destroy an entire planets in seconds and open a black hole, why was it that the entire ball of red matter exploded and the same thing happened, quite slowly I might add.

I don't get why the bridge was shiny and new but engineering looked like a boiler room. I was waiting for Dave Ryder (aka Buff Hardcheese) to drive by in his golf cart.

    Great vid!

-Still bitter I paid $15 for an IMAX-lite matinee

I find the idea of using a black hole to absorb an exploding sun to be far more illogical than the ending. I mean, even if it didn't go supernova early, there still wouldn't be a sun and Romulus would have been destroyed anyway. Also you have a substance that creates black holes and the only thing that can contain it is glass?!

That being said, Abrams' Trek is the only watchable one in the series.

I have to disagree. Romulus was still a space travelling planet. Once the exploding star was absorbed, they would have had plenty of time to fully evacuate the planet before the effects of the lack of sun kicked in.

Only watchable movie? Voyage Home and Undiscovered Country are pretty good. First Contact is OK, certainly tolerable. And Khan is still outstanding. I'd rank JJ's effort second on the list of Star Trek movies that don't suck.

    Meh.

Haha I should have seen that coming but still great!
  • LOL, that was awesome!

The whole plot was terrible, but it is really hard to get the whole cast to magically appear on the Enterprise, the star of the fleet, directly in the middle of training without any real experience.

    Better than Nemesis, really.

There was this theory that it wasn't really a singularity, but ah well, fanboy debates are never-ending, so I'll leave it be.
