Three More Minutes of the LOST Season Six Premiere

Lost Last Supper

On Friday, the opening scene from the premiere episode of Lost: Season Six leaked online. This weekend, a three minute sequence from the upcoming premiere episode, “LA X”, premiered on Verizon and was uploaded to YouTube. The video quality isn’t too great A better digital copy is now online, but I know some of you out there just can’t wait until Tuesday night. So check it out now, after the jump, and feel free to discuss it in the comments below (which means if you don’t watch the clip, be aware the comments might contain spoilers).

Great bits of score by Michael Giacchino

Peter can you avoid putting the episode titles before the jump from now on? Unfortunately for LOST the titles tend to be mini-spoilers and some fans (like me) like to know nothing about the episode before it happens. Thanks

I don't understand the "Lost" phenomenon. It's a tv show. Why does Slash Film cover this crap? Isn't it clear the people behind this show don't have a clue what they're doing. They are making it up as they go. Blind leading the blind.
  • The filming of this show is filmed on film. What's the problem?
  • Matthew
I think you consider tv shows to be inferior when it is certainly not the case today. So many shows The Wire, Sopranos, Dexter, Lost, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Damages all have far superior writing than most mainstream Hollywood movies. Don't be so small-minded to just throw them out because they're tv shows.

    you are an idiot.
  • The creators of the show knew exactly how they were going to end the series when they started it.

They originally only planned for 4 seasons, but when it got more popular they were able to flesh out the story and characters more - thus 6 seasons.

Isn't it clear that you don't have a clue what you're saying? Maybe you should keep your uninformed opinions to yourself. :)

From what I've read, it seemed the creators actually didn't originally know the ending as such. They knew where the series was generally going and had some ideas for the way in which to tie up some of the mysteries but then they added more and more as they had no idea of an actual end date. As a result there will likely be a lot of mysteries that remain mysteries.

I'd also never heard of the "planned 4 seasons" - I'd have thought if that was the case they would never have made some of the Season 3 episodes. I was pretty certain that they had no idea when it would end so as a result added new stories and also some kind of pointless episodes in it at this point. Take for example, "Stranger in a Strange Land" which even the a lot of the Lost crew say is their least favourite.

I'm not wanting to pick a fight or anything, I'm actually a HUGE Lost fan. Just saying!

saw the premiere from waikiki as a live feed last night. good beginning, though the hair-cut continutiy thing was very distracting...
  • Bluedevil
Isn't that the point? The alt-timeline is a slightly different chain of events, so little cosmetic changes like hair cuts and whatnot are what make the timeline "alternative" to begin with. For example, in the Pilot, Cindy the stewardess hands Jack two small bottles of liquor, but in this alternative timeline, she only gives him one. These little changes are wholly intentional and fascinating, in my opinion.

Gah these clips are a test of patience and willpower (whether we can wait till tuesday to see the episode as a whole or not). And i keep failing all the time!
  • Pigalina
Am I actually supposed to be able to see what's going on? Hasn't the guy heard of focus?!
  • I had never seen one episode until November and I watched the entire series in two months. I have to say one of the best shows on television by far
  • Solid
I'm going to rewatch the entire series before the final season. Amazing to think that I was still in high school when this show started. I remember it well, walt annoyed the shit out of me, but otherwise it was the first show in a long while to keep me interested. Then it lost my interest when they left the island and it became just another crappy tv show. But now it's back to the future or something! awesome.

I'm in the same boat as you. I started watching when it first came on, so I've been along for the full (at one point frustrating) ride. I can't think of another series that I stuck with like this one.
  • BrucebyDay
I guess this kinda justifies staying in on a saturday night..........(sigh)

Watching these two clips has got me anticipating this so much more than one week ago. I love it. Can't wait for Tuesday.
