Well personally I love the song... Understandably she could have done less shrieking but I think the song really connects with the film as the lyrics are similar to the plot. I'm allowed my own opinion as you are allowed yours. Now since I haven't slated yours, don't slate mine!

Just saw the movie yesterday. Loved it and liked the song very much. Did not know who sang it or any other songs she did but it fit the movie. Had to look it up to see who did it. Kudos Avril.

As predictable as you people are..you obviously are distracted by the fact that avril was probably PAID to do this. so stop bashing her. You are entitled to your opinion but this wasnt your movie to direct, was it? haha :)

    "The song is sweet"

I used to be a big fan of Avril and I still am a huge fan of her first two studio albums. They had alot more depth, range, and they were sung quite well. She gave a nice, fresh change to pop music. But ever since she moved her ass to L.A., she's done more screaming into the mic than anything... She should be trying to excentuate melodic tones in her voice. The saddest part is that she IS capable, and has proved that she can adapt well over the years....

But THIS...don't get me wrong, everything sounded good during the build up, even powerful and strong up until 1:04, when it just got far too loud. She stopped showing range and began forcing herself to project her ASS off...which is actually something producers like, except in this case she ended up scaring us all off.

The course is also poorly written :(. "When the world's cashing down/When I finally hit the ground/I won't turn myself around/Don't you try to stop me"....

Its not original at all! It's just her trying to rhyme to easy words while still being relavant to a scenario about girl falling down. She sung it so fast and blunt that we could hear her catch her breath. I don't know....There are some parts of the song that are good, but NOT this course.

I'll DEFINITLY see the movie. I don't care about the song - I'll plug my ears if I have to.

    Goodluck Avril.

Do people like you (haters) PURPOSELY come here just to make fun of some people's songs? Do you people have to make other people feel bad just to make you feel better? Go see a psychiatrist instead; it's healthier.
  • Kasey
Just an off subject question, but how do you know about jabberwockies?
  • fefe

U guys are just gealous because she is a good singer.Did i say good I meant GREAT!!!And so what if she shreiks.I dont really care what other people think. Her shreiking is part of the song!!!!!!Jeas!!!U dont relize that?I think the song is well written.Great job Avril.O also I CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT MOVIE!!!!!All the people say she "shreiks" too much are just jealous probaly because they can't sing or they can sing but aren't very good. And yeah look at this and say "oh no she didn't"!!!So what just because other people dont like her doesnt mean u should. If you like her thats your opinion. And I will be telleing her this.
THIS IS THE # 1 SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Liam
You are so right Abby. You stab to the very heart of the matter. However, you failed in an epic manner with the fact that you CAN'T SPELL.

Learn to write or get the fuck off the Internet.
  • Kasey
Ya know what! Why don't you just fricking SHUT UP!!!!!
  • Chris
Can you not fucken reply to every post in which people try to write what they think and feel? So what if she can't spell. She's writing what she feels and her own real opinion. Jeez man. Get a life and stop spending all your time replying to posts on this article. I know you're going to use that last sentence against me. "Using juvenile attempts to insinuate that you have no life" BLAH BLAH BLAH. Stop being such a douche or get the fuck off the Internet.
  • Tracey
    I agree Liam STFU
  • Liam
Spending all my time? They get delivered to my email. It takes two clicks to reply to someone. Not a very large investment of time on my part.
And I am sorry but even if she did have a valid point (which she doesn't), no one is going to take her serious if all she can write is "ZOMG Y U Hatin? LOL". As long as I am a teacher and trying my best to save the written word, people like her (and you, it's spelled "fucking" not "fucken") will meet with nothing but utter contempt from people like me. Don't like it? Then learn to effectively communicate with the written word.
  • Abby
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!I thought this other song was my favorite. Why the hate???So what if she shreiks shes good and I actually love her.She is my favorite singer.I love the ENTIRE song and why do people say time to pack your bags???My mom likes her too!I also ownn somw of her clothing from her clothing line.THAT SONG IS #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Kasey
I wish other people would be such fans of Avril as you and I are. Avril is wicked awesome! :D
  • Mai
yes it could have been more strange, more outlandish, more ... but its an original effort. good job avril.
  • GU3R@
i luv avril lavigne's songs but dis song of alice i dont think it really relates 2 da movie...
  • Kristina
As per usual when it comes to Avril Lavigne, she sounds absolutely disgusting. I'm severely disappointed in Disney, Tim Burton and whoever else thought it was a good idea to use her, as well as any of the other bands/singers listed to something as Awesome as Alice in Wonderland. Great way to start the movie off with FAIL.
  • Kasey
    Oh, fricking shut up! :P
  • Mai
i think u sound pretty disgusting too
  • Kasey
    Right on! :D
  • Kev
As an Avril fan, I'm with the haters on this. I mean c'mon what the hell was that, I couldn't listen to that. She better ditch this from her album or as a single otherwise she could very well be saying goodbye to the music industry and hello to the fast food industry.

The right artists to do this soundtrack was either Apocalyptica or Nemesea.
  • Vivian
As unbiased as I can be, I honestly can't say I enjoyed that at all. I don't hate Avril, I actually used to love her until she became unbelievably mainstream, but I honestly did not like that song one bit.
  • Mike
I love this song! Good job Avril!
  • Nicole
Finally some one that likes this song. I totally agree. Avril Rules!
  • Tracey
This song and soundtrack it the best...idc what you all think...I love Tim Burton movies and yes I was dissappointed when I found out that none of the songs were composed by Dan Elfman. But I love this song it could have been sung better but I love the lyrics and Avril has her great moments... My point is that I LOVE THIS SOUNDTRACK.....I LOVE THIS SONG...AND I WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!
  • ggrrrr
    Totaly agree Tracey!
  • SwedishLore15
How could you possibly love Avril spending more than half of the song screaming her lyrics, such as "AAAAHHHHHH, I'LLLLL SURRVVIIIIVEEEEEEE!"? This pop doesn't belong in Wonderland. I would much rather hear Elfman's otherwordly, classical score. This just sounds...normal. And her lyrics are so lazy and predictable: "I'll take a stand!" Come on.
  • alittler
Tim Burtons hair does not belong in Alice in Wonderland, this movie was fucked from the moment he signed his name
  • APRIL.
WTF was wrong with Jefferson Airplane?!
  • freemachine
It's as if Burton threw away whatever artistic sensibilities he had left and sat down with focus groups in order create this year's Twilight. "Hack" doesn't even begin to describe what he's become.
  • alittler
Become? And to create this years Twilight? New Moon was this years Twilight.

Why are all you kids acting surprised at Burton, and acting like he has SUDDENLY turned to crap, he has been ever since Beetlejuice
  • gah
I'm not a Burton apologist. that said, your comment makes no sense.
  • Chris
I'm officially done reading comments on this forum. All that I ever see is nay saying movie "experts" who hop on their makeshift soapboxes pointing fingers and over criticizing everything that is put to film. So, fare the well all you columbia college drop-outs and just remember though you are all at the center of your movie expertise universe, that you will still have to punch the clock at BK when it's your next shift. Peace n Chicken grease....
  • Liam
You must be new to the internet. For a bunch of people not liking the song, these comments have been fairly mundane. Grow a thicker skin.
And I'm not even going to give your juvenile attempts at fast food put downs a second thought. You know nothing about anyone who has commented, so the jabs just make you seem sad and perhaps a little dissatisfied with your own station in life.
  • Hellfog
Big fan of Avril, but this wasnt great at all.
  • BlackManJew
jesus Avril has a horrible voice.. she can't sing...
  • TotallyNotNick
Most of this soundtrack seems super lame, but its smart buisness on Disney's part. Walk by a Hot Topic and its already full of Alice merch. Let the teen girls have this and the film geeks can enjoy Danny Elfman's score
  • ben
Dave Meyers directed a video shot this week for this song.
