A-Team Movie Trailer

The A-Team

A high-quality version of the A-Team trailer has finally hit the internet. Hit the jump for the trailer. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Things I like about this trailer: Sharlto Copley, showing his face in an American blockbuster and proving he has even more range than just Wikus Van De Merwe. Liam Nesson, continuing his descent into complete badass by taking on the role of Col. John ‘Hannibal’ Smith. The hints of the re-orchestrated A-Team theme (I’m just a sucker when classic TV themes get re-done for the modern day). And at the end of the trailer, a tank falls out of a jet plane and is used to shoot down another plane.

Things I’m not too crazy about: The apparent tension between outright camp and balls-to-the-wall action film, as reflected in the incredibly cheesy dialogue. I’m also not a huge fan of the small bits of Bradley Cooper and Quinton Jackson that we see here, both of whom strike me as trying just a bit too hard. And of course, the CGI, which looks slightly better than a direct-to-DVD movie (or a Transporter film). Undoubtedly the latter will improve as we get closer to the film’s release, so only time will tell what the final product will look like, but thus far, color me unimpressed with how the film looks.

This film looks so bad, the only thing missing is Steven Segal.

    This film is Tutti McNoosh.

The guy who plays Mr T is totally wrong. They should have got Ice-Cube to play him. At least he would get the facial expressions right!

Bobby Odell would have made it a little more realistic in the shoot-out scenes.

I agree, Bobby Odell is a living legend!

Directed by the guy who did Smokin' Aces?

Co-written by the guy who did G.I. Joe and X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

BA Baracus played by an...ahem...Ultimate Fighter?

I was a huge (as in I'd watch Bonanza which was the show's lead-in) A-Team fan. Sure, Ridley Scott is a producer and so is Steve Cannell - an original A-Team show creator - but seriously? It pains me to say it but even my sentimentality for this fun show is not enough to drag me into the theater to watch this bomb...

    Sad.

    p.s. @ CJ

The "story based on years of a popular old series" could be summarized in 60 minutes. Seriously, it's a team of guys that break out of military prison "for crimes they didn't commit" and help people as they're chased by the Army (Col. Decker). I'm not going to shell out $12 to "try and enjoy" anything. I shouldn't have to try to like this. It should have been made well enough to make liking it easy.

Why is Mr. T not in this movie, he is clearly still da bom! Anyways......................AWSOME!
  • CJ
WOW!! I can't believe how ignorant and over-critical most of you people are acting. Of course, there are bad points to all of those films you mentioned, but you have to understand that they have maybe 2 hours to some-up a story based on years of a popular old series, and make sure it's entertaining. It's not an easy task. So, take it all with a grain of salt, and just try to enjoy a new interpretation of an old hit.

the trailer makes me feel like i'm in a dance clubwacthing strobe lights flash. i couldn't concentrate at all on the plot, so idk...

Im not a big fan of A-team. only saw a few episodes. Good show but im only bearly getting in the film industry so who am I to say. This move does look llike it can deliver the action and raw lust in the A-team the TV could not handle unlike its big brother the Silver screen.

Should have used Mr. T. He's older, but still a B.A.M.F.

    this looks so bad!

The trailer is unsure of itself, which could mean alot of things. Weak. But, it hasn't killed my interests.

I pity the fool that thinks this is good!

Whoa. Maybe you guys hating on the movie missed the scene where Bradley Cooper shoots a plane from a tank falling out of the sky on parachutes? Because I don't think you can dislike something like that.

Shouldn't Face be re-named the Body after this trailer? I'm off to the gym to watch more disciplined people than me work out LOL!
  • I hope to god this is good. my brother and me used to worship the a-team when we were little.

"Sharlto Copley showing his face in an American blockbuster and proving he has even more range than just Wikus Van De Merwe."

cant even begin to explain how completely backwards this statement is. Wikus is leagues more difficult in range/execution than this character. while it is very good to see his career flourish, being the tertiary sidekick/comic relief is faaaaar from depth or difficulty for an actor of his caliber. while he no doubt had a blast making this film, he should be working with the greatest directors/writers in the game, and this could actually be seen as a step backwards for him.

I think it's best if the original is cheesy or campy then the follow up should be the same way. As long as the movie is fun and you have a good time watching it then there's no harm = GI Joe........however, there is always some that cause major harm and pain = Transformers 2!!

Movie looks like a ton of fun if you ask me. I want to see it.
  • Wish it were still there. An A-Team movie trailer sounds like a lot of fun right now. I love cheesy movies based on sort of classics. :)

This looks like what Miami Vice should have been. A fun action movie with guys, cars, guns, And a hot girl(Jessica Biel). I miss action movies like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard. I mean now most action movies that get get big budget releases are either based on comics or are sci fi. That's why movies like the new Bond, Taken, and the Bourne trilogy are breaths of fresh air. Old school action.
  • Looks just like Charlie's Angels....Another crappy reboot of a crappy TV show...Seriously anyone caught up some reruns of the A Team lately, the only reason people are nostalgic about these crap is that the shows were designed for very young viewers (shooting guns out of bad guys hands and shit) and we were young at the time ; hint: know anyone beyond 50 now who ever gave a shit about the A Team? but it's been 20 years and if you still can enjoy the ridiculously grotesque plots and styles then go ahead let them cash in on the nostalgia seed they planted in you when you were vulnerable.

    Holy crap, parachute tank!

    My brain just exploded!
  • FECK!! It's off...

Run a google search. You will find it VERY quickly.

BTW, the leak really wasn't that premature, as the trailer was supposed to premiere on Entertainment Tonight today. It just got leaked a few hours early.

it looks like knight rider cheesyness/a-team kickassness but i like it
  • Looks like a summer popcorn flick. It should be a good time! And stop complaining about it being cheesy, it's the friggin A-Team for god's sake...When did films like this become anything but entertainment?
  • How much work is Bradley Cooper getting these days? Sheesh.
  • Erick
Looks like it'll have a "Charlie's Angels" vibe, which fits. Can't wait to hear more of Sharlto Copeley's Southern (?) drawl
  • CaptainTodd
    Sharlto! Sharlto! More Sharlto!!!!
  • MTucker76
I don't know why people are complaining about the voiceover. That is the exact dialogue from the opening credits of the TV show and that was done in a serious style too. Frankly, I like the choice.
  • Exactly.
  • slumbergod
Total shit. While the original series is probably super tacky to see now, the actors really stood out as being different. Other than the black guy in the trailer they all look and sound the same. So it is just another B-grade action flick with little else to offer.
  • ruud_van_schaik
    Police Academy 4

I couldn't help myself. I actually like this trailer quite a bit. I think it's unfair to expect a movie in the vein of Narc. I'm sure it'll be exactly what it tries to be.
  • Loved the silliness of the parachute tank but the guy that is playing B.A. Baracus was the weak link in it all. You've got all these really great actors, Liam, Sweety Man and Cooper then you got Rampage Jackson. He didn't have many lines in the trailer but every one of them really stood out and not in a good way.
  • dogless
I actually clapped when the tank shot the plane.

And anyone who says the trailer doesn't do the A-Team justice clearly doesn't accurately remember the A-Team. Hannibal was smug, Faceman got too much airtime, Murdoch not enough and Mr. T couldn't act for shit.

    And I still loved it!

    1:28! Holy shit!

    hahahahahahahahahaha

I love me some overly critical people! Copley sold the trailer for me, Cooper and that amazingly over-the-top but FUN EYE CANDY ending bought my ticket. You fuck's complain too much. Just sit back and enjoy the show. No one gives a shit if they ruined what you held sacred in your child hood.
  • MTucker76
I can afford them. Get me The A-Team.

There is no plan B. Ha! Dumb fun!

I liked it when /Film had less commenters :(

I do have to say that I'm getting more impressed with Sharto's acting. for a guy with no prior acting experience, he is a PRO. His 'southern' accent is very believable.
