There is a third way: the 2009 Star Trek movie. Trekkie optimism and Star Wars’s teenage rebellion. Star Wars style destruction of a main character’s homeworld done with a Trekkie’s techno-problems (Transporter failure due a drill?). Mind-melds on an ice world. If you were torn between Star Wars and Star Trek, this is the choice.
