The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

This time around – Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb – find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world. Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond. On this bewitching voyage that will test their hearts and spirits, the trio will face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. Only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan’s Country – a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader – can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader hits theaters on December 10th, 2010.

Heh, I read "The Voyage of the Damn Treader" -- was the 2nd any good? I only saw the first one..
  • keesvd
There were a lot of people who liked the second one; however, most of them didn't like the first one. For me, it's vice versa: loved the first one, didn't like the second.
  • [A]
    Thanks ;)
  • I liked the first one, but really really liked the second.
  • Frank
I'm kinda split. I love the first one, and the second one was ok, but that's ok, cause it wasn't my favorite book. I love the whole series, and I so hope they keep going.
  • OA.Edrerthson
It was awsome(My favorite movie is Harry Potter, Narnia and Pirates of the Caribbean), if you like battles then you will love it.
    It is about:
A 13 year old boy named Prince Caspian, leaves the Telmarine's castle, because his uncle wants to kill him.
Lucy,Edmund,Peter and Susan return to Narnia, and hear about the madness in Narnia, so they help- with also the help of an army- Prince Caspian, retrieve his throne, and get rid of the tyrant King Miraz
  • DannyManners
I liked Prince Caspian alot. I big improvement over the first film.
  • john
I didn'y even know this was in production. Did it slip under /films radar?
  • As much as I like this website, they don't cover everything and can't be expected to find everything that is under production. There are hundreds of movies that are under production that this site doesn't, and in all reality shouldn't, report on. I'm semi surprised that they are reporting these photos as this isn't a movie I would think most /film fans would be interested in.
  • OA.Edrerthson
It isn't just under production, it is being filmed, and in Australia and Mexico.
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is set for release on the 9th of December, 2010 in Australia.

Lol I thought the franchise was dead when Disney dropped it, well it pretty much is dead if Fox has it.
  • That is one damn attractive steering wheel.
  • JJGittes
    It's called a helm.
  • M-C
Somebody is gonna get stabbed with those pointy ends... where is OSHA?
  • OA.Edrerthson
I fully agree. It is such a royal rich ship

The first two had their faults but I enjoyed both of them. This was my favorite book in the series so I'm glad it's being made.
  • I'm pretty sure Dawn Treader is everyone's favourite in the series. Everyone I know who has read the entire series had said as much.

I wonder if all seven are going to get made. Looks like they're filming them in order of publication as opposed to the chronological order that most of the sets go by. I was lucky enough to read them in publication order my first go round, and vastly prefer it to the chronological order.
  • There are two different ways to read them?! Oh god, what am I going to do when I get around to checking them out? Which was is the RIGHT way?
  • MickJ
Thought the second wasn't nearly profitable enough to warrant a sequel, but I'm glad this is getting made. Also my favorite book in the series.
  • clarencesomerset
Disney dropped its rights to the franchise after the second film 'underperformed' to the hugely successful first.
  • This movie has potential to be a stunningly beautiful one. I liked how they upped the action in Prince Caspian, and made a surprisingly strong film that I thought was fantastic. I'm sure they'll add some action to this one too, but the book is a lot of sailing to various distinct worlds, and I can really envision them making THAT the focus, and having it be just stunning.
  • I didn't like either of them, especially the second. I found them unbelievably generic. I doubt I'll ever see this.
  • watanabex
so far so good, i really liked the first 2 movies, so im looking forward to this movie
  • Craigasorusrex
I'm also one of the folks who really, really enjoyed Prince Caspian and found the first one to be just alright.

Hope this doesn't somehow turn into crap with Fox in control. Really want this one to turn out well.
  • Money_Talks
No Susan in it? Damn I was hoping to see tits in this one!
  • Goobity
I'm sure someday you'll meet a nice REAL girl who will show 'em to you.
  • Money_Talks
You mean your Mothers'? Already seen em. Poor thing, she told me that you still get on the tit at your age...shame shame....
  • Find a new insult
Really? 'Your mother' jokes haven't worn out and become totally generic and obvious yet?
  • Money_Talks
I'm in Australia..it takes a while for your crap to filter down...and here's the ultimate comeback...Bush.
  • Goobity
Wow. You are so cool. Folks just love arrogance and hostility. Good thing you have a vacant Blog that also has nothing of worth to say. Kudos!

It does take quite a while for our 'shit' to filter down, but it's quite clear where it comes to rest.
  • Money_Talks
Thanks for taking the time to check my blog! Hope you had fun. Have a great day!

This is why prison colonies shouldn't be allowed to become sovereign states.

How disrespectful! Dude, Anna is a beautiful girl and she seems to respect herself enough to not become like most movie stars these days. It is sad that there aren't enough women like her. Women who have the decency to truly respect themselves. And all this is coming from a guy.
  • Money_Talks
Errr...how many cats do you own? Thanks for your support :)
  • Liam
Wow. A self important douchebag with a blog. How unique.
  • hellojacktoad
    You da man! Get him!
  • Money_Talks
Opinions are like assholes...everybody's got one. That's why I'm here too. Flaming someone on a talkback...wow..now THAT'S unique! Didn't Project Mayhem teach you guys anything???
  • Jillian
Okaaaay. I don't think that is Ben Barnes in the first picture...? Maybe I'm just totally blind. I grew up with the animated "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe." So seeing it actually come to life was beyond amazing. I loved it. The second one blew me away. It was just epic in every way possible. Beautiful worlds, amazing action sequences, and an intricate story line. I loved every minute of both movies. December 10th, I can hardly wait!!
  • Jillian
Just kidding, everyone. That is Ben Barnes. My bad. :]
  • i would like to say that the first one was pretty good. i want to see the second one that comes out on may 16th! but maybe, cloud and cheen, you dont have good taste!! lol jk.
  • oh well...narnia is here again..i hope its not as boring as the last one..

Thought they canned more Narnia? huh. Where's the love for the superior Taran series by Lloyd Alexander. The only movie on that is my 3rd favorite Disney movie, "The Black Cauldron."

    Robin Hood
    Jungle Book
    The Black Cauldron
