FilmDrunk has a script review of the new MGM Red Dawn remake: “Generally speaking, the story isn’t bad, but the dialog is a cliché-ridden mess, and a lot of the action sequences are only half written or fuzzy from a physics standpoint.  It’s hard to imagine how they’d shoot a lot of them unless they use that “cause-blur-effect” style shaky-cam editing, but considering the director did stunts on Bourne and was the second-unit director on Quantum of Solace, that’s probably exactly what they’ll do.”

If you havent seen it already, check out this guy’s homemade Tauntaun costume. Video below:

  • The Tim Doyle Change poster is actually 18 x 24
  • Fantastic, I saw the text on the The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond and realized anything associated with Tennessee Williams in a film context is now permanently associated with The Room and Tommy Wiseau in my head.
  • gigaherc
Rocky Balboa was in GI Joe?! Now that's AWESOME!
  • destro
the rocky character was changed to the cobra figure Big Boa (balboa)...cobras boxing trainer. stallone wouldn't sign of on final product.
  • gigaherc
Now that's what I call interesting trivia. Completely useless, but interesting:) THANKS!
  • It's also incorrect. Balboa was to be a Joe and Big Boa would be his Cobra opposite. Licensing for Stallone's likeness was instead used for a line or Rambo toys so the Balboa Joe was not produced.
  • Octoberist
i love his weapon of choice.
  • I am looking forward to Daybreakers, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be 'aliens all along' like Undead.
  • DorienG
“the obvious abstinence message in the book.” … “Many of the young women that we interviewed had felt pressure to perform sexually by their peers, but now they have a desire to find their own ‘Edward,’ who will be interested in them for nonsexual reasons.”

Great, I knew we(guys) were eventually gonna get f@cked for this crappy book..Now EVEN MORE females live in this fantasy world...
  • presto117
    it's so fucking stupid!

i've (unfortunately) read the book, and these teens are stupid as hell. edward literally says he can't sleep with her cause he'll probably end up fucking her to death. it's literally right friggin there, too, and it's not "cause he's decent".

anyone who's read the book will attest to how much of a douche edward is. it's the only reason this series gets to me: not cause it's terrible, but cause it's sending the wrong message to young girls who don't know any better and won't be able to differentiate love and infatuation.
  • malars
That Trek poster is MUCH better than anything they ended up using. Bah!
  • I love Tennessee Williams. He was one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th century.

wow, Christina Aguilera looks like a fucking tranny. But then again, she always does.

the Addams Family musical? I don't know whether to be excited for it or dread it...
  • Steve_Kasan
The real reason why Sabotage was used in star trek goes by my analysis for the film, Abrams basically Michael Bayed the movie, but not too much Bay.
And like all Michael Bay films there has to be a dated pop song, Sabotage happens to be it.
Wu Tang have referenced Star Trek for years.
Maybe JJ likes the Beasties and thats why he put it in.
  • Octoberist
i disagree that Sabotage is dated, by all means.
  • Steve_Kasan
Maybe "dated" is a too harsh a word, but, the song is almost 14 years old. Wow, that still boggles me having grown up during this time.
  • freemachine
The poster for The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond is one of the most striking I've seen in some time. As for the Serious Man poster, I'm pleased to see the attention to detail; they actually reproduced some correct equations (i.e. the Hamiltonian for the wavefunction). I just hate when they think we wouldn't notice some bullshit quantum mechanics ;P
  • Joe
If anyone's interested in the "marquee mistakes" entry, do NOT go there. Not only is it a waste of time, but it's riddled with viruses as well.
