Up in The Air

Paramount Pictures has released a new clip from Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air. The clip features the lovely Anna Kendrick as Natalie, a young college graduate questioning George Clooney’s character Ryan Bingham, who she is stuck on the road with, about why he chooses to have more casual relationships than relationships of substance. There is also a lot more going on in the clip, such as Clooney snapping a photo of a cardboard cutout of a couple in love (and yes, that is Danny McBride…), but you don’t really need to understand whats he’s doing to enjoy the clip. As I’ve stated before on the site, this is one of my favorite films of the year. This clip alone probably won’t be enough to convince you to buy a ticket, but please, take my word for it. The clip is embedded after the jump.

  • Is that all the McBride is in this film for?

Saw this last night and really, really enjoyed it. In response, no, he has a small but decent role near the end. J.K. Simmons and Zach Galifianakis also have small roles as fired fellows.
  • Thanks for the response. Good to hear he has a larger role than just a cardboard cutout. And I figured Simmons would be in it. I doubt Reitman would dream of making a film without him. Seems to love the guy.

How can you not love J.K. Simmons? I dunno, I saw the movie a few weeks ago, and he's only in it for a few minutes. Even still, one of the most memorable performances.
  • @Sean: I agree. J.K. Simmons is excellent. Love seeing him pop up in movies when I'm not expecting it.

Is it just me or does the framing of this clip seem odd? The actors heads are about chopped off in every shot. I just want to move the camera up about 6 inches. We can see their waistline but we can't see the top of their head. What's up with that?
  • looks like a nice flick...lookin forward to watch it....
