ABC has announced today that the sixth and final season of Lost will premiere on Tuesday, February 2nd 2010 with a special ” all-night event.” Basically, the night will kick-off at 8:00pm et with a one-hour recap special, followed at 9:00pm et with a two-hour premiere. More details after the jump.

The series will then air in its regular time period, on Tuesday nights from 9:00-10:00pm et beginning the following week, February 9th 2010. The show had been on Wednesday nights, which are now slotted with a sucessful comedy line-up the network didn’t want to move around. ABC is trying to figure out the rest of its midseason schedule, but it’s believed that the V will take over the Tuesday 10:00pm slot following Lost.

Is the season goes off without a break, and Lost’s two hour finale is counted as two of the announced eighteen episodes (which is probably the case) then we will see the two hour finale of lost on May 25th, 2010 — right at the end of Sweeps. As it appears right now, Lost will will also go up against NBC’s coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and will not take the a much rumored break.

ABC also confirms in the press release that Nestor Carbonell’s Richard Alpert, Ken Leung’s Miles, Jeff Fahey’s Frank Lapidus and Zuleikha Robinson’s Ilana have all been upgraded to series regular status, and that Emilie de Ravin is back full-time as Claire. Henry Ian Cusick’s Desmond is not listed as a season-six regular, although he’ll be appear as a recurring character.

Same here! I had the choice to have my 3 hour chemistry lab on either Tuesday night or Wednesday night so I picked Tuesday since I figured Lost would be on Wednesdays! ARGH!

I'll be surprised if there isn't a break or delay in the schedule at some point - hasn't that happened every season?
  • I love looking at this poster - I am new to LOST, currently in mid Season 2 on Netflix Instant- AMAZING BY THE WAY!! But seeing some characters up there Ive never seen before is fun, uh...is that Jeremy Davies up there?! HOLY SHIT!! And then there are those characters that have already died that we will see in the last season is cool as well. Either way, I guess I gotta by some basic cable next year so I can watch as it happens. Ireland usually screen the show a few days after the US. For example, when the US screened it on Thursday night, Ireland would show it 3 days later on Sunday night.

"ABC also confirms in the press release that Nestor Carbonell’s Richard Alpert, Ken Leung’s Miles, Jeff Fahey’s Frank Lapidus and Zuleikha Robinson’s Ilana have all been upgraded to series regular status"

Ken Leung has been a series regular for two seasons already. He was called a guest star in season four's press releases, along with Jeremy Davies and Rebecca Mader, mistakenly. He was billed among the starring cast in season four, which is what makes him a regular-and he was billed as a star in both the press releases and episodes during season five, and he was in the promo pic of the regulars, and he was in as many episodes as Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn, and he received a centric.

He's been a regular since his introduction, unlike Richard, Frank and Ilana, who were guest stars. So why have I seen two people make this mistake already? :/ Ugh.

    Woo hoo!
  • AlanaRose
I'm going to be really upset if the last episode of the last season they all die...or they dont fully answer what happens next!
  • I wouldn’t be too sure about that. They made a pretty big deal about claiming that “dead is dead” & “there’s no coming back.” If you pay super-close attention to seemingly throaway dialog on Lost, you’ll realize that they often establish “fact” just to overthrow it at some point later. So, I’m holding hope that the real John Locke will be back and be better than ever. I still believe his mommy when she said he was immaculately conceived. I think Locke was made by The Island & that he’ll come back from death to save The Island.
