Now that Fox has officially canceled Dollhouse, what might we expect to watch in its place? What else? More shows created by “comic genius” Seth MacFarlane… oh yeah, and American Idol. This is FOX we’re talking about after all… “So many different shows, you won’t realize they’re exactly the same!” I know it’s a joke now, but this might actually be the future of this network. Watch the video, created by the guys at College Humor, embedded after the jump.

Fox needs to pick the Unit. That was one of the best shows on T.V. CBS put it on the second hardest time slot, and seriously, who watches CBS besides for football?
  • de-bunker
How about someone maybe bringing back Firefly? Or did Wheldon squash that idea?
  • Fox still has House, which is the greatest procedural/medical drama EVER! and Fringe, which is way worse than Dollhouse.
  • Rick_Dickulous
I don't get the backlash against MacFarlane. He gets some fairly progressive and subversive shit onto Fox during prime-time. He is definitely pushing the boundaries of network TV.

Ive always loathed Seth and his style. The most a Family Guy episode has done to me is either cringe or smiling for a bit but no laughter... Its just not funny. Its RANDOM! And mainly leaving me go "Okay why is this funny?" And dont get me started on The Cleveland Show! The fact that it got 2 seasons BEFORE airing shows how much Fox is sucking Macfarlands cock. Yeah i know, he was great in Hellboy and he wrote one of my favorite shows as a kid (Johnny Bravo) but still...
Collegehumor is genious at these parodies and i applaud them for that :D

I enjoy watching that program whenever I can which is rarely. Was it just a slip of the tongue, or preplanned to get attention?

Joss Whedon should stop going to Fox. Go to another network that actually wants to make creative shows. This is as much his fault as it is Fox. Fox hasn't been interested in creative shows since X-Files. They only care about making money. Whedon should know who to go to bed with before sticking his dick in.
  • bigmansmallmouth
    That's fucking great.

You people don't seem to understand; Dollhouse was destined to fail from the get go. Shit was in a Friday night slot, had a confusing synopsis, and was barely promoted. I honestly believe everyone designed this show to bomb.
  • starscream9289
    The signs are everywhere.

    THE END IS NEAR!
  • Morphina
    He's not even that funny.
FOX needs to bring back King of the Hill and kill off American Dad and The Cleveland show.
  • Danisgod6491
Family Guy is getting good again, unlike the last season. I wish King of the Hill was still on. I heard Adult swim might order new episodes. I wish Cleveland Show was no more. oh and Dollhouse sucked.
  • Dont much care. I love firefly and really enjoyed angel but dollhouse just wasnt doing it for me. I could not for the life of me get into it, firefly on the other hand i could watch endlessly.
  • nick
Dollhouse is almost as bad as Glee. Shit, Joss Whedon is the furthest downhill you can get. I love these fanboys that hail Buffy and Firefly as the second coming (I love Firefly). Dude, face it, Dollhouse was fucking terrible. I'd rather watch the worst Family Guy episode any day as opposed to watching Dollhouse. Him and Kevin Williamson need to get stranded on their own desert island.
  • Stupid.
  • freevideoblog
    Awesome hahaha
  • AdventCiervo
Yes Family Guy sucks, and the Cleveland Show is getting off to a really rough start, but I will defend American Dad to my dying day. I think that show is hilarious, because everything that Family Guy does, the ridiculous gags, American Dad doesn't. Also, I totally agree, Venture Bros. is probably one of the best animated shows out there.
  • Reese
Agreed. Somehow, against all logic, American Dad is shockingly entertaining, despite MacFarlane's other shows being abysmal. I believe it's the one he's the least hands-on with, which may explain everything.

And yes, Venture Bros. is the best animated show on television by a mile.
  • zinkywinks
Yes, lets bag on something people watch instead of something people didn't. Get the sand out of your vagina, Dollhouse wasn't good to begin with. Not everything your precious Joss Whedon does is gold... hate to be the bearer of bad news on that one.
  • Leland Brungardt
Sadly, I agree. DOLLHOUSE just wasn't up to par with Whedon's other works.
  • Andy III
So ok, I know people are smarting from this, but the thing I want to point out in Fox's defense is the fact that shows like 'Dollhouse' and 'Terminator' were given a chance and a decent budget and shot in the first place.

I don't see ANY other network putting the money behind shows like this and sticking with them until it becomes apparent that they're just money losers and they have to cut bait. Can you imagine CBS or ABC or something putting on a Joss Whedon show? Not a chance.

For instance, 'Arrested Development' was one of my favorite shows of all time, and I would love nothing more than to have it still be on the air. But simply put, people didn't watch it, and Fox is running a business. If no one is buying your apples, you stop selling apples. It was nothing personal against me, it just didn't make sense.

Also, yeah...Seth MacFarlane has worn out his welcome...The Cleveland Show is abysmal.
  • Terminator had it's chance with season one, before it was moved to Fridays, but FOX never gave Dollhouse a chance, it premiered and stayed on the Friday Death Night time slot.

    (Go Team Venture!)
  • Andy III
    Go Team Venture indeed!
  • krackajap
  • riggs
arrested development was probably top 5 comedy show of all time. fuck fox.
  • Andy III
That was awesome! I'd never seen that. Thanks
  • The problem, as I see it, is that Family Guy and American Dad are possibly the only good animated comedies out right now. And yes, those shows beat the crap out of "Hey, let's be golden mean idiots and commit strawmen" South Park.
  • iec
what? why would you expect southpark to address a topic in a serious manner? it's a cartoon. what is up with all of this over-analysis of funny cartoons? why can't you just laugh at a joke.

I don't understand why people hate Family Guy. it started in a more reasonable way, but now it's reflectively turned over on itself because it's so popular and that's where most of the humor comes from. also, I find it hilarious.

isn't it great how comedy is subjective? I man, some people think Larry the Cable Guy is funny, some people think Futurama is great, some people like Monty Python. how about everyone just shuts up about what's better because there's no such thing?
  • @Snowball: I am talking about the political views espoused in South Park, which either consist of strawmanning those who the creators disagree with or golden mean crap.
  • MickJ
Alright seriously, what is the DEAL with not being able to respond to a 4th comment? The conversation just ends there? Then people have to do this "@" nonsense. So stupid.
  • Octoberist
    how about Venture Bros?
  • The Great Cambino
Sounds like someone got their feewings hurt by a Tret and Matt episode.

The best animated comedy right now is Venture Bros by far. Family Guy is the laziest show on TV, and Seth Macfarlane hasn't been funny since Johnny Bravo.
  • The problem is that Matt and Trey are notorious for being impervious to logic. There are of course some episodes that are great but those episodes alone do not save you from bullshit logic.

The Venture Bros. is indeed awesome. But I do not like it more than American Dad.
  • "The Venture Bros. is indeed awesome. But I do not like it more than American Dad."

    RIP credibility.
  • Snowball
Logic? A talking baby with a british accent and a homoerotic space alien? Some logic.
  • Octoberist
The problem with American Dad and Cleveland Show is that both shows feature the left over jokes from Family Guy.

"Oh we can't fit that joke in Family Guy huh? Don't worry about that!"
  • Kofi
That's not a fair comment American Dad is a much funnier show then both Family Guy and The Cleveland Show.
  • riggs
    American Dad is garbage.
  • Gomer
much like Adult Swim, Fox sunday has changed from something that was moderately good into absolute shit, over the span of just a couple years.
  • Octoberist
Seriously, Adult Swim now just has Family Guy reruns. Only the Venture Bros and maybe Metalpoclypse are fresh. I don't know if Harvey Birdman is still active, or just cancelled.
  • Tim and Eric, bitches.
  • greggorybasore
    Yo dig that Refreshy
and hey Gomer, can't we dig on Adult Swim educating the guys in the states on how cool BBC stuff is? They're running the original version of The Office so peeps can see what the guys at NBC have taken 5 or 6 seasons to never match up to. When a friend of mine said I should check out Mighty Boosh and I told him I'd been thinking about doing that for the last couple of years he was surprised about it but understood quickly.

I'm hoping they pick up on Spaced so that Edgar Wright fans in the States can see that Gem Stone and start begging for a 3rd series. If enough people wanted Wright and the crew to do a series 3 and they wanted to do one it'd be more epic win than season 2 of Big O.
  • Shu
    No love for Boosh?
  • Gomer
Boosh is awesome. but that's originally from the BBC. Adult Swim just ganked it.
  • broodwich
yeah harvey birdman's finished, most of the new show's they come uput with are crap
  • krackajap
    Go Team Venture!

Possibly my favorite cartoon second only to Futurama.
  • mudywaters
Family Guy is still funny sometimes, but I've never even seen American Dad or The Cleveland Show. That video is hilarious!
  • Alexander
College Humor just gave Seth MacFarlane a lifetime of shows that I can actually see him making.
  • so true....
