uwe boll storm

Yes, we were one of the movie news sites that filed a report at Fantastic Fest declaring that Uwe Boll might have finally made a good movie. Was it just a fluke? Was it just a case of the broken clock being right every once in a while (twice a day)? Or might Boll go on to make some other fun films?

His next movie is an entry into the disaster genre, with a film called Storm about the biblical end of the world. Of course, Boll had no part in writing this film, as the screenwriting credits point to Canadian scribe Tim McGregor. It doesn’t look great, and yes, it still screams “I’m a direct-to-dvd feature film” but the acting and dialogue seem to be well above the normal bar we’re use in a Boll production (which to be fair, was set very low).

Here is the official plot synopsis:

“Biblical rain, dying animals and a blood red moon. Clearly, all is not well on the quiet farm in the countryside where Tom makes a living with his wife Gillian and their young son Graham. Before the cable and power goes out, glimpses of weather related catastrophes on a global scale are hinted upon. Amidst these eerie signs, a soft spoken man named Silas stumbles onto their property, sick and cold. Even more disconcerting is how quiet Tom notices everything is… neighbors, cars, birds, crickets, all are nowhere to be seen nor heard.

According to Silas it’s not so much as the beginning of the end, but in fact the end itself, and they’ve been left behind. As Tom goes about things in denial, believing that the flooding rains have simply evacuated the town, he shuts out those closest to him, allowing Silas, perhaps the only other man left alive, to grow closer to the emotionally starved Gillian and Graham. But the unsettling evidence cannot be ignored and Tom struggles with the horrifying truth: maybe it is the apocalypse. The rapture. The end of days. And they’re all that is left of humanity.

As Silas slowly reveals his true colors with his murderous past, and lust for Gillian, the tension between the men builds until an explosive showdown occurs, with Tom defending his family, and fighting for their survival, and perhaps the survival of all mankind.”

Uwe Boll is a master filmmaker.

    You people just don't understand.

The man should be canonized by the Vatican for being such a genius, for Christ's sake!

2012, Legion...Uwe's Storm is like the cherry atop an "end-of-the-world" shit-fest sunday. Eat up.
  • ag_the_king
Well in the beginning of the trailer made me believe that it actually could be a good uwe boll movie. Then it started... The bad dialog and horrible low budget action scenes(not that horrible and low budget is the same thing).
  • Am I the only one that's noticed his ONE possibly good movie is NOT video game-based?
  • blueman
Up until the last 30 seconds of the trailer I was thinking "Huh...this might be the first Uwe Boll movie I actually watch."

I still might just to see if hes really as awful as the internet leads me to believe
