FWIW, John Clark is the Bond-type character in the Ryanverse, not Jack Ryan. While I agree the Ryan character is deeply rooted in the Cold War, many of the Clancy novels are still relevant. It's a shame Hollywood bastardized Sum of All Fears, making neo-Nazis the bad guys instead of Islamic terrorists.

WTWTA is not a hipster movie. That is all.
  • WTWA is definitely a Hipster movie. There was even an adult clothing line based on the movie! And also, the Monsters better represent a den of drug addicts and depressed stoners more than Max's inner battle or issues he's dealing with.

This movie is made or urbanies and disgruntled suburban people in their late teens/early 20s.

4year WoW vet - I laughed pretty hard at Devindra's rant on MMOs

Devindra should write an essay on hipsterdom. That would be a must read article for me.
