The /Filmcast: After Dark is a recording of what happens right after The /Filmcast is over, when the kids have gone to bed and the guys feel free to speak whatever is on their minds. In other words, it’s the leftover and disorganized ramblings, mindfarts, and brain diarrhea from The /Filmcast, all in one convenient audio file. In this episode, Dave Chen, Devindra Hardawar, and Adam Quigley discuss the virtues of digital projection, the psychological process of dealing with critics, the longevity of Titanic’s appeal, and how much cooler Baked Alaska is than Banana Nut Bread. Special guest writer/director Rian Johnson joins us for this episode. Rian’s latest film, The Brothers Bloom, is currently available for rental in iTunes, Blockbuster, Netflix, and plenty of other places right now.

After the break, you can see a photo of David’s delicious banana nut bread. You can always e-mail us at slashfilmcast(AT)gmail(DOT)com, or call and leave a voicemail at 781-583-1993. Join us next Monday at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST at Slashfilm’s live page as we review Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are.

This has nothing to do with the podcast but I just came back from a triple feature of Law Abiding Citizen, Paranormal Activity, and Zombieland and I am ecstatic. I haven't had such a good time at the movies in forever. I just saw the best thriller, the best scary movie, and the best comedy of the year all in one session. It was pretty epic. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. Now I need to go see Where the Wild Things Are sometime when the theatre isn't packed with loud little kids.

Whoa. I can do two movies in one moviehopping session, but three is out of the question for me,
  • Kyle C.
Yea, I can usually only do two as well but they were all pretty short so it felt like two, haha.

Just want to say for the last time that Rian Johnson sounded like Jason from Home Movies.

Speaking of overdubs at the end there, who could forget the all-time winner from the tv version of Scarface: "This town is like a great big chicken, waiting to get plucked!" (This town is like a great big pussy, waiting to get fucked)

Anyway, good show, Rian Johnson is an awesome guest. I'm going to rent Brothers Bloom tonight.
  • "This town is like a great big chicken, waiting to get plucked!"

That is the greatest overdub ever created. O_O
