Toy Story 3 is being directed by Lee Unkrich, based on a screenplay written by Michael Arndt, the Oscar winning screenwriter of Little Miss Sunshine. The story begins as Andy
is moving off to college, and the fate of his favorite toys hangs in the balance. We learn in the trailer, which was attached to prints of Toy Story’s 3D double feature, that the toys find a new life in a daycare center, or do they? The tagline on the teaser poster is “No Toy Gets Left Behind” which may give us a clue to the film’s plot.

Pixar’s Toy Story 3 will hit theaters everywhere in digital 3D starting on June 18th, 2010.

At first glance I thought that Ham had the giant 3 shoved up his ass.

Should I feel guilty about that?
  • forts
Yeah you should... And then Rex puts it in his mouth... Eww

I like how the toys show signs of wear for realism and that they too have "aged."
  • It is a very nice touch... though when I first saw the scratches on Ham I thought they were on my monitor... I had to scroll up and down just to make sure it was the image :P

But Rex, the little marks on him are so subtle and nice.

Still, it looks like Hamm's had some Botox.
  • Chip
LOL, freemachine! That comment is hilarious. And Joseph, I thought the same thing about Hamm's scratches at first.
  • Only a handful of franchised/sequel films can get away with such simple promotional approach. These are great!

Personally I'm preparing myself for the huge visual jump that you'll see from Toy Story 2 to Toy Story 3.

I was watching the 3D re-release with a friend last Friday night, and I had forgotten how far Pixar had gone in only 4 years time. The fur on Spud looked rather bland, but then the fur on Buddy looked very real and much better in comparison.

They showed the trailer for 3 before the movie started, and I was blown away with how visually stunning it was. Comparing the quality between 2 and 3 is almost like night and day. I'm not discrediting Pixar's earlier works, they were stunning for the time and are still a sight to behold today, but still.

These posters are so very nice.

The graphic expression you can see in the 'characters' is really great, and jut makes me psyched for that 'visual jump' ModernTenshi is talking about. That's going to be great!
