The Walt Disney Studios continues its fairy tale legacy in animation by taking moviegoers on an all-new “once upon a time” musical adventure. Set in the legendary birthplace of jazz – New Orleans, The Princess and the Frog will introduce the newest Disney princess, Tiana, a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana’s mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.

Featuring the voices of Anika Noni Rose (as Princess Tiana), Oprah Winfrey, Keith David, Jim Cummings, John Goodman, Jenifer Lewis, Bruno Campos, Michael-Leon Wooley, Peter Bartlett and Terrence Howard. Directed by and based on an original story written by Disney’s acclaimed filmmaking duo John Musker & Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules). Scored and music written by Oscar®-winning songwriter/composer and New Orleans native Randy Newman (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc.).

The Princess and the Frog hits theaters with a limited run in New York and LA starting on November 25th, followed by a wide release on December 11th.

This movie is gonna be great! It reminds me of my childhood, man was i lucky to be born in the Disney Renaissance.^^'
  • Yeah, isn't nostalgia grand?
  • slashtalon
Is it just me or does that top image have an eerily 3-D vibe too it.

Amazing or creepy, I can't decide. But, I love Disney so there's hope

I love that it's 2D and the drawings are great but I'm really not diggin the coloring style of it. It's too glossy and airbrushed for it to feel like a true 2D animation for me. I'm not sure if its just the production drawings that have that feel or if the movie is just as glossy...but I'm not feeling that art decision/direction at all.

I won't let that stop me from watching and hopefully enjoying the heck out of it though

    that's just for promotional use
take a look at the DVDs of all the disney classics. They all have this "glossy" look
The movie doesn't look like this at all, thank god!

I agree but i guess this is what happens with the animations/cartoons these days. What I find ironic is that while the improved technology makes the lines and coloring look crisp and well-defined, it also gives the animation, as you put it, a "glossy" or "airbrushed" feel, which lessens the human touch and magic of the hand-drawn animation IMHO.

All that being said, I still can't wait to see this movie!

Well ain't that a bunch o' bullshit! ain't no black girls i know that would be kissing no damn bullfrog!

unless it was chris brown ;)

Well, this IS a fairy tale. It ain't supposed to be taken realistically to begin with.

Exclusive? I saw this over at Blue Sky Disney and Latino Review two or three days ago. What gives?

Great poster, but I don't like just using the Disney name and not Walt Disney.

The fact that it's a hand drawn Disney movie is enough to get me to see it. This is a very smart move by Disney.
  • Looking forward to it! John Lasseter's done a great job so far re-establishing some classic Disney magic into Disney projects. Hoping this provides an entry way for more 2D animated features (in the US) to get made and that, following PIXAR's trail, subject matter gets broader.

This is definitely one of my more expected films of the year and I'm very excited for it. I must say, I prefer the first poster. This looks like a DVD cover and not a theatrical poster. The first poster just looks so beautiful.
  • Has anyone here actually seen the latest trailer for this film? Seriously? It looks good to people? Who passed out the Kool-Aid?
  • Mariel
I like this poster because, even though it does look like a DVD cover, it does show all of the characters you haven't yet seen in the trailers.
  • I can already tell I'd rather smack that fucking frog with a shovel than watch this.
  • simmy25
    how sweet
  • I saw the cardboard standup at the Metreon in San Francisco earlier this week. Looks just like that...

Except some jackass ripped off the frog already.

I think I'm at the top of the list for my theater's book to sign up for posters (I work for the theater, so the book is employees only).

Just told my friend, who helped me get the job there and handles the posters for the theater, that if I don't get this version of the poster, I'm going to castrate him.

To be honest, I'd be fine even with the teaser, but dammit this poster is so cool.

Then again, being friends with the guy who does the posters, I could end up with a copy of each.

Terrible poster. The teaser poster was much better.
Not very excited for this movie, but we'll see.
  • I really do like this poster. I don't think it's too busy or anything just maybe visually boisterous.
  • Daniel
Love the new poster! it looks very eventful!
