Fantastic Mr. Fox Soundtrack Listing

Fantastic Mr. Fox

I’ll admit, I’m not as excited about Fantastic Mr. Fox as I should be. Definitely not as excited as I would be about a new live-action Wes Anderson film. But lets look on the bright side, at very least we will have a new Anderson-curated soundtrack. /Film reader Bill C sent over the complete soundtrack listing for Fox, which can be seen after the jump.

  • No Mark Mothersbaugh?!
  • zebrat
yeah, really. what happened to mothersbaugh? that's a damn crying shame.
  • Bill-C
I'm not explicitly familiar with Alexandre Desplat, but he did get Oscar noms for Benjamin Button and The Queen. Not having Mothersbaugh on board is a drag, though.
  • Hey whatever happened to Mothersbaugh?
  • Rockie
    i'm there for this film

i too wish mark was on the soundtrack but i'm fine with this listing
  • ZachG
    Where the F** is Mothersbaugh?
  • Saids
Mothersbaugh didn't have anything to do with Darjeeling either.
  • lefthandedpanda
I wonder if Mothersbaugh will be writing new tunes for the Pee-Wee's Playhouse movie. Or is that not coming out. I've lost track of that proj.
  • I got really excited for Canis Lupus but then realized it wasn't the Aquabats song haha.
  • Andrew
Anybody want to guess which of these songs will be attached to slo-mo shots?
  • zebrat
oh snap! (those slo-mo shots with kickass tunes are some of my favorite scenes. the first time i ever heard nico sans velvet underground was when miss paltrow was stepping off the bus in slo-mo. wonderful.)
  • mangoshakes
i could see beach boys' ol man river being used to end it. the music part maybe, not as much the vocals. but for this kinda movie, i could see it. just cause it has this folk-ish vibe that would fit the setting.
  • MarkoP
Well Mothersbaugh did do the score for "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". Maybe he was busy with that.
  • mangoshakes
beach boys = win. putting their ol man river cover is quite obscure too
  • plagueoftruth
I was originally under the impression that this was a musical with Jarvis Cocker doing the songs. Maybe that idea was scrapped.

I'm still very excited. Besides, Quentin Tarantino and Sofia Coppola: Anderson always has the best soundtracks.
  • HSDDDDD
slashfilm why do you hate on this movie? I think its gonna be great.
  • That's the thing, HSDDDDD, as a Wes Anderson fan- particularly a late Wes Anderson fan- I should be stoked about this. I saw the trailer for this in a theatre the other day and the animation was so bad I didn't even bother to check out the credits.

I thought someone had blackmailed all the actors involved into doing it. Maybe you've seen the trailer and you have a different assessment, but the whole project just feels like something that wouldn't make the cut at Rankin/Bass.

Thumbs up. The Burl Ives is a nice touch.
  • Ashitaka
Glad the Beach Boys are getting some love. Speaking of love, it's a shame Mike Love ruined their reputation and demoted them to a band of gratuitous, soulless performances on Cruise ships (pre Pet Sounds catalogue), appearances on Full House, and Kokomo! Wilson brothers forever, Love never!

where do u find the song "love from the movie"
