How am I to enjoy this set, when I and no one else around me owns a VCR? Also those little goodies bump up the price $40, from the regular set. I don't think it's worth it

    Lol, VHS!
  • DanKerstetter
Wait - it really comes with VHS? I'm all about "fun packaging" and whatnot, but that's useless...I'll be honest, that kind of ticks me off that they have a VHS included. Do they at least include whatever video is on the VHS on the discs?
  • how am i supposed to enjoy the orientation video?! VHS?! WTF MAN
  • Freakinflax
I've seen this a few months ago and have yet to be informed what is on the VHS tape. If it's like a 5 minute orientation video, I mean really, $40 more? Shit, I'm still gonna buy it. That's why he started the post with Attention Lost Fanatics. That's me buttercup

I still have my VHS player, and watch VHS tapes from time to time. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.

I still have like four VCRs, I don't know if I'd pay this price, but it is amazing nonetheless. Don't get what all these people are complaining about... this is just ridiculous fan service and I love it.

    Best. Collector's. Set. Ever.

Now if only they were actually floppy disks which contained the season finale in text or 8-bit (?) old-school video game graphics style.

    Will this come to Europe?

That VHS tape is the only reason to buy it. I'd love to see it. Hopefully it's more than just a one minute orientation, but actually contains some cool Dharma footage that the show hasn't aired.

    Guess I'm buying a VCR.

Great, now I want this but I originally wanted to wait until a huge box set of all 6 seasons was released on Blu-Ray.

Who cares if the VHS is virtually useless today... its just a prop ... did anyone get upset at the 300 special edition because their head was to large for the mini-helmet?
  • mike
wish they did something like this for every season

I have this set and watched the VHS, it was a 2 minute orientation video that I could have done without seeing. Nothing special to it really. Certainly wouldn't suggest to people that they buy a VCR to watch the orientation video, that would be a huge waste of money. And by the way, the picture is misleading, the actual cassette tape has a very tiny amount of video inside, the cassette shown in the picture for the set looks like a regular movie with a sticker covering the original label.
