2012 Japanese Trailer

2012 japanese

It must be trailer week at Sony Pictures International. Yesterday they released an international trailer for Zombieland, and today they’ve released a new Japanese trailer for Roland Emmerich’s new disaster flick 2012. It might start off similar to the previously released domestic trailer, but about half way through we begin to see a lot of scenes and sequences we haven’t seen before. We also begin to learn more about the story — where are the main characters going? How will they survive? The countdown clock is introduced.

To be honest with you, I’m more excited for this film than I should be. Yes, I’m not expecting a great movie, or even a good story, but the sequence we saw at Comic-Con with a limo outrunning an earthquake was so ridiculous, yet fun in all the ways that Transformers 2 should have been, but wasn’t. Check out the new Japanese trailer embedded after the jump. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors. Starring John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt. 2012 hits theaters on November 13th 2009.

It looks ridiculous!!! But not more ridiculous than most things that have been at cinemas lately so . . .

That is a game-changer right. EPIC. revolutionary!
  • This looks amazing. Whether the story will be as good remains to be seen. I am still convinced that Emmerich can put out a good movie (Independence Day, to this day, remains one of my all time favorites) and with the acting talent of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Glover, Platt, Newton (her latest roles have been amazing), and, to an extent, Cusack (he has been waning lately), I have faith that this can be an excellent film. I am likely too optimistic but whatever.

I'll be seeing this opening weekend for sure. I love Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I couldn't find your email address on the site for some reason Peter, so anyway, the next chapter of the Lost Viral game happened in Boston, and the new poster is even sicker than the first!

I'll be looking for Noah's Ark in 2010. For now, thank goodness for Amanda Peet's hotness.

The Day After Tomorrow (now with 100% more John Cusack)!!
Really? I mean, i enjoy a great disaster movie, but i think that 2 in one year is quitea a bit much...... (for those that dont know, I referring to Knowing (The Day After Tomorrow: then with 100% more Nick Cage!!))

eh, but maybe it'll be worth a rent....

I'll probably watch this eventually since the CGI looks awesome. However, I'm pretty concerned when CGI is the best reason to watch something!

And I can't for the life of me understand how and why John Cusack (and Nic Cage) continue to get starring roles. Either they have a pact with Satan or they give one hell of a blowjob.
  • I think I like this trailer best, but I might be biased...

I like your Laughing Man icon... anywho... why ARE trailers in Japanese always cooler looking?

I'll rent it when it becomes available on Apple TV. John Cusack's been a bit disappointing lately and this doesn't exactly look like a proper vehicle in which to stage a comeback. As for the trailer, the title "Ni sen juu ni" actually sounds cooler than "2012". But that's the Japanese for you; they do everything cooler.
