Inglourious Basterds Tyler Stout Poster

We’ve been writing about artist Tyler Stout since I first found his “Remember the Alamo” poster at the Alamo Drafthouse. The Austin based artist frequently provides kick ass posters for the Alamo’s special events, most of which we have featured on /Film: Robocop , The Road Warrior , Spaced , Hellride , Big Trouble in Little China, The Lost Boys, The Warriors , The Thing, Blade Runner, Total Recall and The Big Lebowski.

The Alamo Drafthouse commissioned Stout to do a new poster for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, and MondoTees is selling a 24 x 36 4-color screenprint for $30. The $80 limited variant is printed with metallic inks (image after the jump), limited to 80 prints. Head on over to Mondotees to grab yours while they’re still available. Stout’s prints usually sell out within hours.

The chick with the flower in her hair kinda looks more like a dude.
  • I don't even wanna know how long it took him to finish these.
    Great work!
  • thegoblinking
genius. i wonder why not all 8 basterds are in the squares at the bottom but nonetheless its gorgeous and brilliant!!!!

The theater marquise in the illustration's background appears to be playing an actual film starring Leni Riefenstahl and entitled L'Enfer blanc de Piz Palu (1929). Yes, the same marquise appears in the trailer. The Basterds, who have landed in France after the invasion (1940), intend to attack this premiere, which would taken place some ten years earlier. So there's either time-travel involved, or QT is an narcissistic idiot who pulls shit out of his ass these days and expects people to love it. I have low expectations.

That's not what's premiering at the theatre you moron. The premiere they are attacking in the film is for Nations Pride. Its a movie house that played movies, many of them older than the date the film takes place in. When i go see a classic film fest at a theatre and The Bicycle Thief is on the marquee it doesn't automatically put me in a time machine. MAYBE, you should actually see the movie before making guesses as to what a poster is implying.

Don't you love it when people make automatic assumptions about Tarantino's work because they are just killing themselves trying to find something to justify not liking him or taking something away from his style, when they themselves have no idea what they're talking about? Indeed, the Marquee in the film reads "L’Enfer blanc de Piz Palü" and "Leni Riefenstahl" underneath. Shoshanna is taking it down because the cinema has shown the film at an old film festival.

I love stupid people, they keep life interesting.

    BTW, the films amazing.

Nice work from him as always. While the Alamo is Austin based, Tyler Stout is not. He works out of Brush Prairie, WA.

I thought the Alamo was in San Antonio, if not my mistake.
  • Alamo Drafthouse, the theater. It is also in San Antonio, but the original is here in Austin. (http://www.originalalamo.com/)

I was at the event this was for, and ended up getting the Hitler Target one the night of. Stouts were awesome, but I didn't have the money :(
