Gregg Araki is one of the most amazing fucking directors alive!

dave, i'm all the way with you, anytime the guys try corner you. great you got the guts to disagree.

i agree with you on this movie, as well as on the flaws you pointed out concerning the "dark knight" (still a great movie, yes, i know) and, believe it or not: i do love "the mummy 3" just like you! brilliant movie, way better than the indy-franchise. screw aliens. yetis all the way! adam's a racist.
  • I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but either way, I did not love The Mummy 3.
  • wesley
i'm sorry, dave ;-) i just thought, i once again stretch this stupid mummy-topic one more time. (i do agree with you on your "dark knight" criticism, though.)
  • Mysterious Skin was a grrrreat movie! Good one, Devindra.

Aw *beep* that wasn't supposed to happen.

Wow guys, amazing episode! I'm not wild about Wes Anderson and the Fantastic Mr. Fox does look like an unnecessary step back considering how animation as advance in the past years, so good call on that one.

I like your thoughts on the Alien prequel. I don't think this movie should be entertained let alone put into production. I especially the enjoyed how your 3 different opinions at times offered great insight into things I never really thought about regarding FOX and Ridley's past efforts. I absolutely loved the "Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut" and is hands down my favorite 'Scott' film so it's glad to hear that someone out there agrees with me.
Also I agree almost completely with your review of Funny People and how this movie tried to do too much. Thanks for the effort that went into today's episode. Can't wait for the next one!! Keep up the great work!!
  • Thanks for your kind words, RidgeRacer4!
  • Excellent. Insightful readings of Funny People, both of it's positives and negatives. Robert Cargill's analysis of the final shot and how it wraps the narrative....beautiful. Thanks guys!

You guys really got into it this episode! I'm not a fan of dark movies, but I loved Requiem, so I think it was just on the edge of that taste. Any further in and I think I might have been depressed for a week.

Devindra pisses me off sometimes, but other times he's dead on. David...I love you man!

I just think sometimes you all need take a breather and ask your mom what she thinks. She'll always give you a consensus opinion.....or at least mine does.

I just watched TimeCrimes on Cargill's recommendation. That s**t blew my mind. Wow. I love hard sci-fi, and that some hard sci-fi. Beautiful.

Just listened to the podcast last night because I wanted to see Funny People before hearing the review and Monday was my first opportunity to see it. Anyway...

Geez, David, you got your ass handed to you in this review. Some of it was just the group's disagreement with your opinion of the film, but a lot of it (to my surprise) was just the other guys pointing out stuff that you missed in the movie (i.e., whether Sandler is proud of, or enjoys watching, his body of work; the significance of Rogen's relationship with the girl across the street; the big-picture relevance of Rogen selling out his buddy for the writing opportunity and the resolution of that conflict).

I'm all for you sticking to your guns in being the only one of the group that didn't like the film, but your "facts" in support of that opinion were lacking this time. Better luck next week!
