New How To Train Your Dragon Concept Art

How To Train Your Dragon

Dreamworks Animation has released a new concept image from Chris Sander’s How to Train Your Dragon. The concept art was created by art director Pierre-Olivier Vincent. You can get lithographs this Sat. & Sun. at booth number 4921 on the Comic-Con show floor.

From the studio that brought you “Shrek,” “Madagascar” and “Kung Fu Panda” comes “How To Train Your Dragon” — an adventure comedy set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, based on the book by Cressida Cowell.  The story centers around a Viking teenager, who lives on the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life.  Initiation is coming, and this is his one chance to prove his worthiness to his tribe and father.  But when he encounters, and ultimately befriends, an injured dragon, his world is turned upside down. How to Train Your Dragon hits theaters in March 2010.

    cool!
  • Looks interesting, but I just don't think Dreamworks Animation has it in them to release something that looks as compelling as that concept art.

Luckily Chris Sanders will be the amazing talent to save this film.

I like the art, but the plot sounds awfully familiar to the dreadful Shark Tale.

If they can tone down the pop culture references and develop the characters so that I care about them (that frickin' green Ogre gets on my nerves), the story has potential.

    The art looks good though.

I put this as my desktop background the second I saw it.
    This is beautiful.

Am I the only one getting a Shadow of the Colossus vibe from that concept art?

Good job on not mentioning Chris Sanders as the director.
