The Weinstein Co is planning to advertise Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds during Ultimate Fighting Championship. I’m guessing they’re going to try to sell the talky war drama as an action movie to the action movie crowd. This kind of bait-and-switch marketing usually ends in disaster. [thr]

I actually saw a District 9 sign a few weeks ago in a store window. It was a used game store sortof like game stop. It was a Help Wanted. Humans Only sign with the no alien picture and then some fake contact info below.
  • They are on a lot of the bus stops here in the bay area along the same lines.
  • Sketch
Yeah we've had them in bus stops, and bus benches as well as in some store fronts.
  • Good idea from the Weinstein's to advertise 'Basterds' at UFC 100. The UFC is one of the fastest growing sports in world and has a solid base of the fans in the UK and US (as well as elsewhere), so it will be reaching many homes. Also, the way Dana White and the UFC, essentially 'whore out' advertisements', during the live broadcasts means it will get plenty of vocal air-time as well.
