Predator

Arnold Schwarzenegger might not be part of the Robert Rodriguez-produced Predator reboot Predators after all. Or at very least, he hasn’t yet been asked.

A rumor started circulating last week that Rodriguez had reached out to Schwarzenegger to be part of the movie, but that the Governator had yet to respond. Rodriguez wrote in to AICN to clear the air, saying that he hasn’t contacted Arnold and they haven’t even finished a script yet.

We’re still writing a new script, and although I know Arnold personally and he’s the coolest person on the planet, I have not contacted him about this at all at this time.

Schwarzenegger turned down an offer to appear in Stephen Hopkins’ Predator 2, and the cameo was rewritten and given to Gary Busey. So I somehow doubt he would be interested in being part of the reboot, and honestly I don’t see the point. Did Arnold’s cameo really bring anything to Terminator Salvation, aside from a cheap pop from the audience? Nope. I say if you’re going to reboot the series, do it right, and go full force.

If you’re going to bring the main character back, why not have his role be something significant? Why not just make the film a full-on sequel? I understand people want to see Arnold again, but I don’t think he really needs to return. And if he does return, I’d rather it be something more than a rushed extended cameo.

I agree Richard, fuck all these reboots, have producers/writers/directors run out of ideas? Wheres the imagination of something original? Jesus, listening to all this "lets re-make classic 70s 80's films makes me sick. Come on Hollywood your sposed to be better than this
  • To Hades with the endless criticizing, I don't know much yet about Daniel Rodriguez but I do hope Paul W.S. Anderson could help with some ideas about a sequel. The old Dark Horse comic books stories where interesting. I can remember the old comics I bought from a rather impoverished fellow here in Central Illinois who is a good friend that I haven't spoken to in a while. There was a graphic novel that had something to do with Dutch having a twin brother that was in New York if I remember. Thank you for providing a place to discuss ideas for fans of this franchise.
