Early Buzz: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers 2 premiere

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen premiered in Tokyo last night, and the first reactions are beginning to hit the web. I’ve only been able to find a couple reactions so far, but as more pop up, I’ll be updating the post below. So far it seems like people who liked the first Transformers movie, will absolutely love the sequel. More action, Bigger robots:

Sora on the MichaelBay Forums: “I loved Transformers 1 so much, but I’m sure you’ll feel like the previous movie was just a dash of bitters in a glass of appetizer Martini. Be prepared to be impressed!”

Wonkimus_Major on Don Murphy’s message board: “Movie was incredible, I liked it much more than the first! More action, more robots, less humans! Though there are some lame sexual inuendos like Wheelie humping Megan’s leg.” Head on over to the message board posting to read some spoilers.

    Looks technically impressive, but the "going to college" clip that was posted on the site earlier was so horrible that I expect a Michael Bay repeat as far as storytelling goes.

    Doesn't really matter what anyone says I'm too pumped for this movie for one persons view too ruin this movie for me.. Though this is good that people think it's better than the first

    $6 is a steal. Here in NYC a regular ticket is 12.50 and an IMAX showing is 18.50.

  • A matinee here in Brooklyn would be a full movie ticket it some rural southern city.
  • They fork up millions to make the film, and because of a sexual innuendo, you can't fork over the six bucks to see it? So long as you're not planning on ever watching it, then fine...but if you go download a rip of it in a few months time, you're a total fapping douche. Just thought you should know ahead of time.

  • That sounds kind of bad (really a robot humping Megan Fox)... What about the story? Were the characters any good? "Less Humans"- I thought Shia was the only really good part of Transformers.

    i think this movie will definitely make more than 100 million in it"s first weekened and it will be in the top 3 highest grossing movies of this year for sure as a the movie goers i think people who loved the first one will like this one as far other"s are concerned it will be mixed reviewed movie for them. It will be interesting to see if it makes more than the first part concerned with the reviews only time will tell how much it falls or any new movie like public enemies or ice age 3 does open great weekened.I gurantee 230 to 270 million in US if it opens big as it will defenitely.

    Yeah, it's really weird. She can look really gross at some events and ridiculously hot at others, it's perplexing.

  • From Don Murphy's thoughts, it seems like they just threw random Transformers into the movie to give it a larger scale; which upsets me. Also, I was hoping they'd name the different Constructicons on screen, and what's up with them re-using them after Devastator has already formed, and no explanation for Blackout? Welker only getting a few lines? The Twins always sounded lame. Coolest part in the trailer was when Mudflap was getting sucked in by Devastator. This leads me to believe that again, they have forsaken plot and character development for stupidity. I guess we're never going to get a Transformers movie with an emphasis on the Transformers, Bay needs sex jokes.
  • I think old time Transformers fans are the best of the bunch. 'We need more character development between Soundwave and Whoevermatron!, not this stupid action!' They're cars...that turn into robots. The premise is stupid off the bat.

    As a drinker, I find this metaphor at once confusing and offensive. Could she have not just said "I'm sure you'll feel like the previous movie was like some cornflakes in a plate of Cheerios."
