Ricky Gervais tells Empire that Simpsons head writer Matt Selman is now working on a second draft of the big screen animated adaptation of Flanimals: “I’m going to play the lead character, a Puddloflaj called Puddy. It’s great fun to work on and it’s really weird. Flanimals was a little thing I used to do when I was 15 to make my nephew laugh. And now this is happening. The important thing is, we never plan it. It’s nice and organic and you keep hold of it and you own it. What I don’t do is run around trying to do anything. It’s got to be a labour of love first and then it’s ten times as rewarding when something happens.”  “The good thing about owning everything is I can give myself the lead role. The Puddloflaj is a fat useless blob. He’s a sweaty, purple-faced, cowardly wobbler. And he’s got a Reading accent. Brilliant! And it’ll be 3-D. Posh! $80 million was the last count. Crazy, isn’t it?”

  • First text to my roommates, all big fans of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, after seeing Star Trek? "Star Trek, Starring Simon Pegg"

I loved him in ST, scene stealer extraordinaire.
  • That Aronofsky interview looks really interesting.
  • Flax
That kid was pretty aodrable. I half expected him to completely flip out
  • What's the song in the Where the Wild Things are trailer? It's just damn good!! I want it!
  • An ever so slightly changed version of Wake Up by Arcade Fire off the album Funeral.

One of the few albums to deserve all the hipster hype it gets.
  • Holy crap! to the stuntman reel. That was amazing.
  • Dan W
Yea that was nuts! I wish I could do that stuff.
  • Yeah I think he must of been CGI no way a real person could do that. It was a digital double I TELLS YA!

Simply incredible. How many times do u break bones before you can do half that stuff?
  • Infrafan
LOL. Do you know that stuntman reel accidentally loaded and played while I was watching the Star Wars Old Republic vid, and I didn't even notice because the music synced up so well. Gotta try it. LOL.

Quinto looks like he's trying to kill Obama with his Syler mind powers in the first shot.

And, surprise, only one independent cinema in SC and it's several hours away. Least I don't live in the Midwest though. Wow.
  • As soon as the KOTOR MMO begins, my life officially ends. Also that poster for 9 is really neat.
  • 1. Someone needs to tell Aronofsky to shave. It's one of the worst mustaches I've ever seen.
    2. Smurfs movie? WTF
    3. Disney better not change Christopher Robin into a girl like they have in their new TV series in that new movie.
    4. That trailer for the star wars game has been coated in pure awesome.
    5. A star wars trilogy based off of Knights of the Old Republic could be awesome.
  • 5. Only if it's not directed or written by George Lucas.
  • Nooooooo Aronofsky's mustache is fantastic. mustache or death I say.
  • I have to wait till it comes out but i'm still iffy on Scarlett Johansson as my favorite female hero from marvel. I've never seen her in anything that i could say she was good in.
  • Joe
Two things: We really shouldn't be talking Best Picture for Up. Was it the best movie I saw this year? Undoubtedly. Thing is, it's June 2nd. We've still got 7 months to go, and such films as The Road, Nine and more.

And also- 35 minutes of deleted scenes?? Wow, that's pretty much unprecedented. One of two things happened with LotL; either it REALLY sucked, or the director's cut will be a totally different movie (much like how Terminator Salvation will be a different movie once we see the extended cut).
  • musicsoup
it's probably just 35 minutes of bullshit will farrell ad libbing. I think the script is like,

EXT. FUTURE PAST DESERT - MID DAY

    WILL FARREL
    (ad libbing about the heat)

    DANNY MCBRIDE
    (ad libbing about the heat)

Suddenly, a T-Rex roars in the background!

Will Farrell farts as he runs away.

    FADE OUT
  • freemachine
"Die Hard" Casualty Map is pure genius. Best action film ever made...
  • Jake
Any other year I would say Up would win Best Picture, but Public Enemies will give stiff competition with AVATAR winning it (and all the tech cats to boot)
  • Oh god Sylar has gotten to the President!
  • What Power will he take from his Brain?
  • WOAH
I'll definitely watch Kick-ass if Damien Walters got to pull off stuff like that in the movie.
  • Nathan
Wow, why is it I like the trailer for KOTOR MMO better than the entire prequel trilogy?
  • Now He Can!!!!!!
  • musicsoup
Why does he always look so angry?
  • musicsoup
it's not just slightly changed. it was recorded live specifically for the trailer.
  • Really, I thought it was just an unused take or something. And I thought I knew my Arcade Fire.
  • the first part is an acoustic version done specifically for the movie that leads into the album version.

the band recorded this other version because all of the temp music for the movie when they did test screenings were songs from Funeral.
  • Well thank you all!
Here's a free round of thumbs up for y'all!
  • Damien Walters video is amazing...
  • adE
    AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

    WTF????? Freddie Prize Jr???? 24??????

this is the worst news ive heard in a while. does anyone on this site actually believe this chump could play a field agent!!??

so much for season 8 being the most realistic yet!
  • omg!, Sylar try to kill the president for real?
  • Ben Candoattitude
Freddy Prize Jr must be the cheap Univision version of (the already cheap American actor) Freddy PriNze Jr.
  • DeviousMrBlonde
Have to agree on the Simon Pegg thing. I love that guy but his character in ST was a retarded walking cliche. All I could think every time he was on screen was that I was watching an American wet dream of what a Scottish person is.
  • but you didn't feel that Chekov was a complete stereotype for a Russian person? or that Kirk is an archetype for the womanizing, cocky American?
