Get Him to the Greek Set Footage

Get Him To The Greek Behind the Scenes

MTV got a chance to visit the set of the Forgetting Sarah Marshall spin-off, Get Him to the Greek. The story, written and directed by Nicolas Stoller, follows a fresh-out-of-college record company intern named Aaron Greenberg (Jonah Hill) who is assigned the job of transporting an out-of-control rock star named Aldous Snow (Russell Brand, reprising his role from Sarah Marshall) from London to a gig at Los Angeles’ famous Greek Theater.

I’ve embedded footage below of Brand giving a tour of the set, where we get to see the behind the scenes antics as Hill shoots a scene with and his angry record company boss Sergio (played by Sean “P-Diddy” Combs) in a club. Watch the clip after the jump.

Get Him to the Greek will hit theaters in April 2010.

  • Is this the comedy starring Joaquin Phoenix as a rapper?
  • Very funny. I really enjoyed Forgetting Sarah Marshall so I'm looking forward to this. I don't know why, but I assumed Jonah Hill was playing the same (infatuated fan) character as in the previous film, but obviously not from what we've seen here.
  • I don't know, I still think it might be him. I just don't believe they would completely recast him. Maybe he's playing his characters twin? In any event it looks like this will definitely be it's own movie, which is a good thing.
  • No it's been firmly announced that he's playing a different character. The stuff in FSM was gold but you can't do another film around that and I think the idea of Hill playing uptight against Brand's outlandish will be hilarious.
  • Wow, weird. But I agree with you that it should be funny.
  • Russell Brand is hilarious and a true representation of British comedy in general. He and Ricky Gervais need to just take over Hollywood.
  • I'm tabling my usual cynicism and crossing my fingers that this is as funny (or funnier) than FSM. Stoller's got serious talent and Brand has real chops. Plus Jonah Hill's friggin' hilarious--and he owes us after whoring out in that Night at the Museum crap currently screening at your local megaplex. :-)

Who'd a thunk it, MTV actually blesses us with a clip you can watch outside the US. Such an honour. Film looks great, if the leash on Brand is loosened up as much as FSM then this'll be a good 'un (didn't know Colm Meaney was in this either - ace!).

Film looks great (new site looks great too guys).
  • sexualized dancing for money

    puff daddy, diddy, whatever

    whats wrong with Jonah's voice?
  • sweet! they brought back that awesome bartender from Sarah Marshall and do I spot Colm Meaney (Layer Cake, Star Trek:TNG) dancing ?
  • Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a pretty funny movie but that really doesn't make me want to see this spin off or whatever its suppose to be. Perhaps a trailer will change my mind but as of now I'm not that interested in it.

I think it's going to be hilarious, just based on that footage. At first I really didn't like him, but Russel Brand is growing on me.

Probably got sore after yelling over all that loud music.

But seriously, I was wondering that myself. Also he seems to have gained some weight, not sure if that's related to the role or not. :

Rob from the Screening Exchange gets me into movies so I can review them for my college newspaper before the film comes out…he’s very cool for doing this since they make a good appearance of usually screening out the press beforehand. Btw, according to him, the cards at tonight's screening in Burbank show that the new Jonah Hill comedy is not playing as well as they predicted with males 18-24.

I thought it was really funny, though!
