LOL: Cam Gigandet vs. Twilight Fans

zz478e8a00

Twilight fans are (generally) nuts. I’m sorry, but its (generally) true. I kid, I kid. (or do I?) Being cast in a Twilight film may as well be one of those trick choices in an old-school Twilight Zone episode. Sure, you get to be famous, but your life becomes a living hell.

In this Funny Or Die video, /Filmcast “favorite” and Never Back Down star Cam Gigandet has to fend off a group of crazy tween Twilight fans. I would never, ever, EVER condone violence against women, but there’s something really funny and satisfying about seeing Gigandet destroy a bunch of crazy tween Twilighters in this scripted short.

  • I went to high school with that guy...
  • Lawdog
I think the best part was the embedded ad for bipolar disorder. Best targeted advertising I've ever seen.
  • What's remarkable about this video is how the fight quality actually matches the fight quality found in both "Never Back Down" AND "Twilight."
  • Daniel
I think you're a bit too hard on Twilight. It wasn't *that* bad. The directing was good (especially in the Baseball-Match scene) and the soundtrack was also a pleasant surprise.. avoiding the cliche heavy-rock music who's mostly used in this type of films.
  • no, it was *that* bad. the acting. the direction. the only thing was was ok was the cinematography. and the soundtrack. but that just pissed me off that a Radiohead song was used in Twilight.
  • Daniel
Except of just yelling at me, want to explain why you think the directing was bad?
  • WHAT? Especially the baseball scene!?

Where they try to catch the same ball in midair, collide and then a lightning bolt strikes behind them?

    No...no no!!!
  • Daniel
Yes, the baseball scene, with the unconventional angles and that was so energetic that it make you feel like you play it yourself, and was the highlight of the demonstration of the use of vampires powers.
  • Daniel
Hi, if someone disagree with me, that "-1" thing want make him rigth, words will be a much better way.
  • I can't tell if you're being serious or not. I also can't stop laughing.
  • Daniel
Look, i *didn't* like Twilight but it has some good things in it, the directing is one of them (and i say it as someone who hate "13" [fron the same director] and anlike many other, i hated the direction in it).
  • This just goes to show that people judge without having full knowledge of...well ANYTHING. Get struck by lightning? Wtf? The sound is caused by them colliding because they're going at such high speed, and they fall cause, well, obviously, they COLLIDED GOING SO FAST. Whether there was actually a lightning bolt there at all, I don't know. Nevertheless, if there was, it had nothing to do with them colliding.

People, stop dissing Twilight. As a true somewhat-fan of the book, I can say the movie sucked. If I'd never read the book, I would have absolutely loved the movie. You're all just mad 'cause it was actually successful, and you think it's not for anyone besides little girls. Hate to tell ya, but I have a ton of guy friends that love the series just the same.
  • Honestly, the Twilight bashing has gotten a little old. I'm actually having a hard time deciding whether I'd prefer to listen to a Twilight fangirl talk about Edward or constant bashing of Twilight.

That said, that video wasn't in the slightest bit funny.
  • Cam Gigandet was realllyyyyy sexy as a vampire. (yes, I saw Twilight finally last month... and no, it was NOT that bad)
  • Justin
lol, didn't you post yesterday in the Page 3 column that you hated Twilight?
  • i think it was more of a tirade against fangirls.
  • never read Twilight, but I caved in and saw the DVD. a lot of people said it was crap, and I expected crap. But it wasn't that horrible, while it wasn't that great either. It was entertaining for 2 hours at least.

and I DO hate Twilight fangirls, but they deserve recognition as much as fanboys who love Star Trek or Star Wars.
  • Oh hell no. You did not just say that Twilight Tweens are as legit as Trekers and Wars fans. Aint no way. They obsess over a pile of shite; an unreadable book series (I know I tried) and a terrible movie (put it in at work to laugh at it, not even really good for that). Star Wars and Trek on the other hand, are timeless classics which continue to influence Sci-Fi today.
  • Agreed. Twilight fans are just mindless Zombies that love shit they call a book and a movie. It just a fad at the moment, it will blowover.
  • heather
    dumb dumb dumb
  • That felt satisfying.
  • That reminded me of elementary school...
  • Tap Zepol
It needed more kicking. More roundhouse kicking in the facial area.
  • That could've been funny. At least the fight was decent.
  • Ender
    That kinda sucked.
  • Even though im not a fan of the MTV awards that was awesome.
  • good stuff. made me laugh.
  • Gennaro Gattuso
Well, that was depressing. It's a grown man kicking the crap out of a bunch of 12-year-old girls. I loathe Twilight, but this leaves a nasty taste.
  • JKW
Violence against 12 year old girls probably should leave a nasty taste, but at this point I think being a 12 year old Twilight fan still makes you enough of a tool that violence against you is justified. Warranted, even. If they had the chance and you were in the movie, they'd tear you apart just for something to put in their scrapbook.
  • You're actually condoning a grown man beating prepubescent girls because they like a series?

    Okay, wow.
  • StabmasterArson
Unlike peter, I condone violence against women.
  • Rena
I condone violence towards OBSESSIVE fans
  • Not a fan of twilight or MTV/movie awards but this clib was HA-LARIOUS
  • That was pretty awful. I was hoping it would be like the MAN VS KIDS videos in terms of actually being funny, but no.

Youtube 'Man Vs Kids' if you actually want to laugh.
  • I like Star Wars, but I don't care for Star Trek, so in theory I could call Star Trek a heaping pile of shit. Movies/books are subjective, you hate this while someone else loves it. doesn't mean you're right and they're wrong.
  • I remember the SDCC when they were showing a preview of Twilight. We lost so many Geeks to girls like this. Never Forget 7/25/08.
  • A day that will live in infamy.
  • kimberly
this was just a fun video making fun for their best fight nom, cam didn't write the scene he just did his job, cam was a good sport for doing this and those girls had fun, you can tell by the pics from the shoot that they were having a great time, cam is amazing and a great actor with a amazing career ahead of him, and he LOVES HIS FANS SO MUCH, YOU KNOW CAM WOULD NEVER HIT GIRLS, this is just all in fun, and it was great i loved it.
  • Thank you for explaining that to me.
  • robert
I don't condone violence against women, but I condone female violence against men, because that's what sexual equality is all about.
  • man... this was the best acting ever
like i can't separate between realism and acting!!!! LOL

oh god.. there's so much wrong about this video
  • i will say this - it is a book, and kids are reading it...

there are probably plenty of books that are sub-par to what we seek out now that we read as teenagers, but those books were a foundation for reading (and a springboard to better content)...
  • Ahaha. This was funny. And while Twltards might be obsessed enough to want to hit I've also seen some Star Wars and Star Trek geeks that are just as fanatical. I'm not comparing just saying. Twilight will fade in a few years and another tween sensation will hit. My kid is not nearly as into Twilight as she was this time last year. She's moved on.
