John Connor "I'll Be Back!"

Warner Bros has begun airing two new television spots from Terminator Salvation, one of which features Christian Bale as John Connor, speaking the infamous phrase “I’ll Be Back.” Before you groan, in context it’s not nearly as cheesy as it sounds. And hey, we’ve already seen a young Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin) say “Come with me if you want to live…”, which in my opinion is 100 times cheesier.

The second television spot shows a bit more of the story of Blair Williams (Moon Bloodgood) and Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington). Watch both television spots after the jump. Thanks to /Film reader Hargun K for the tip.

The line works pretty well....damn this movie looks awesome
  • Mr. B
Good to finally have some more understanding about the role of Marcus in this whole shebang. I liked the previous trailers but they left nothing about him other than confusion, now he has his own sense of purpose.
  • the line works. it doesn't come off as cheesy at all. which will be nice after seeing "Wolverine" this weekend.

Holy crap this movie looks awesome. Star Trek, this, Up, the brothers bloom, funny people, moon, this summer is going to rival 08'
  • Not really because if I could erase The Dark Knight from my memory and see it over again at a theater this summer, then FUCCK YEAHH
  • this summer kills last summer so hard. star trek, terminator salvation, up, brothers bloom, drag me to hell, land of the lost, dead snow, moon, transformers: revenge of the fallen, the hurt locker, bruno, harry potter and the half blood prince, funny people, district 9, inglourious basterds, halloween 2, boat that rocked, ect. blows my mind.
  • District 9 is looking good too.
  • jenny
oh man, this movie looks so fucking good!
  • brvtalbrodeo
every time i hear the music at the end of the first spot there i get incredibly stoked.
  • starscream9289
    Epic.

There is no way this movie is not going to kick major ass. I don't know Bay, I think McG might actualy have you beat.
  • I didn't think the "Come with me if you want to live" sounded that bad....

(On another note--does anyone know what could be up with the reputation score? Mine hasn't gone anywhere in like months, even though I've posted and gotten plusses. Anyone?)
  • Sam Worthington is such a cutie! I can't wait for this movie, really hope it lives up to the hype.
  • Vinyard
It better provide good *answers* to all the philosophical questions it keeps posing. I'm enticed. 'Cuz if this film doesn't have a story, it might as well be Transformers 2.
  • gah
i forgot that this comes out this month. i thought maybe it had a later summer release. man, they aint kiddin around in May. I think it might have been smart to spread these films out a bit more.
  • lux
Young Kyle Reese saying “Come with me if you want to live…”? where??
  • Not sure if the footage is online, but it was shown at Comic Con and all of the T4 comic con appearances
  • I'm ucking done with you, prroffeschnnallllly! Amachu!

No I'm nooot! This looks awesoooome! This might be to early to tell but it looks like MaCGargamel has proven himself..?
  • Bale pulled that line off well, but it still has a bit of a contrived feel to it.
  • It did feel a little contrived but only because of that line's history within the series. It's kind of like saying "Bond, James Bond" You grown when you here but it does need to be there to be nostalgic. At least Bale did a good job with it and makes a little more sense in this context.

I wasn't groaning at all. I squealed* in glee.

*That does not reflect the whole swine flu thing at all.
  • Chokinzoku
This movie will be a bigger hit than some people might think...apparently the story is really good...it'll do $260M plus domestic...
  • I can't wait to see this.
    My most anticipated Summer release.
  • GCF
    SICK!
  • It really looks amazing. TRUST THE MIGHTY BALE!
  • I still fail to see what sets this apart from any other post doomsday movie. Note I am no fan of the series as a whole. Does someone care to explain what makes this so anticipated movie of their summer.
  • I think it comes from the love of T2. It was a great action movie that just turned everything up to eleven. Now people want to see that again. Not to mention the fact that Christian Bale is badass and watching him play a character that has been hyped up to be badass for over a decade is just exciting for anyone that has liked any of the movies or even the series. It's just mind numbing action packed fun.
  • Weyland_Yutani
sentient robots. All I need to see is that beautiful, Stan Winston designed, Terminator head sliding across the floor, and I'm sold. A good story would be a big plus, so hoping for that. Unfortunately, no Bryce Howard in daisy-dukes leaning over a motorcycle, but I'm okay with that.
  • I think this will be my favorite of the summer
  • The line worked perfectly. Felt a little badass actually.

This movie has me stoked. If they get the Worthington story right, it'll be epic awesome.
  • Have been seeing these spots a lot today and with each one I see I get more and more excited..pleassee be great.
  • Wow. I'm so ready for this. I agree, this wasn't cheesy at all. The line worked just fine. I can't believe it is May already!
  • I am so damn excited for this movie but I am really trying to lower my expectations in case McG delivers another McShit sandwich. Hopefully the movie is as good as the trailers.
  • I love this. Cant wait for the movie. Thx !
  • badenglish
looks great is this in imax ??

along with up transformers 2 and sector 9 this summer will rock
    moehahahhaha
  • Cat
    The new arnold.
  • I'm going to knock on wood, and say this:

"This movie cannot and will not suck"

There I said it. Hopefully I didn't jinx us all....
  • keef
looks like McG may have found the G spot afterall!
  • jason B
yeah, that line was delivered perfectly. no groan at all, bale's a badass.
  • thomas040
Bale is a great actor. No one forget that. And great acting in a hollywood blockbuster only ads to the shit. Gonna be sweet.
