Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Trailer

Paramount Pictures has officially premiered the new trailer for Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Yahoo. The new trailer gives us a better look at the comedy, characters, and story. And yes, the return of Megatron, a character that Michael Bay insisted only appeared in the film during a flashback sequence. And lets not forget, Devestator.

I was more impressed by the previous teaser trailers, but usually the tease is better than the reveal. The big robot action sequences look pretty insane. Is it just me or does the Devestator footage still looks a bit unfinished? Check out the trailer after the jump, and please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

In the highly-anticipated “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” debuting June 24, 2009, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) again joins with the Autobots® against their sworn enemies, the Decepticons®. Michael Bay directs from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman.

  • I can't wait to see how this movie turns out as much as the next guy. But, I didn't know any of the main plot details before this trailer (i saw the teasers and movie news but that didn't explain much) and I have to say that I'm not convinced. I do think that this could be a great movie, but the fact that its a hunt, with cracking symbols, and this type of humor,and it looks almost as though this is shaping up to possibly be a "National Treasure" with robots.

    I hope this movie turns out well, and I think it probably will. I hope it proves me wrong.

    the movie looks like a rehash of the first one. the first two trailers gave the movie a dark side. this new trailer just kills it.
  • The action looks awesome, and Megan Fox looks hot. Besides that it looks crappy- "Megatron wants what is in my mind!". Also why is Sam saying now "This is not my fight", why wouldn't he say that in the first movie. It will be fun, but stupid as hell.
  • I totally agree....also, what's up with the return of all the horrible robot humor and the awful John Turturro lines? didn't Bay read any of the reviews or fan reactions? I mean I like humor but when Bumblebee starts dancing to the song it's like who was this scene shot for? Jetfire using a cane?, even Peter found that lame when the toy showed up online....

    I mean the action looks great.....but the overacting and hacky jokes look just as bad as the first one....Shia is bringing some of that acting charm from Indy 4 to this one it seems...Bay is bringing all the bad back...while we get a great action flick we also have a really awful kids flick in there as well...I have a feeling Terminator Salvation might edge out this one in the box office and with critics

    Whether you like Michael Bay or not, you cannot argue that this won't be the most fun movie to watch of the summer!

    Based on teh first film I think you could argue that....

    seriously though, think back to the first film. There really wasn't much action at all. of a 140 minute film only about 15 minutes of it was made up of robot action. The entire reason we're all here to see it. The rest of the film is a bunch of random humans running about doing random stuff I don't care about. It wasn't that much fun.

    Except I am not saying the first one was fun. I am saying that this one will be extremely fun. Plus, Bay is the first to film on the pyramids in something around what, 30-40 years? And Devastator should be reason enough to know that this movie will be fun. And personally, I remember a decent amount of robot action in the first film.

    What are you talking about. Frank stated on his website that he was never aproached to do Megs voice???? Hugo Weaving did part 1 and unless it was all just a big cover up Im curious to know why you think he would be doing it this time around???
  • It'll be fun to watch the battles, but I can't help but cringe at the bad dialogue as I remember the image of urinating robots!

    It's an expensive blockbuster movie not a cheap cartoon, I wish they would at least TRY to make the characters like-able (take a look at all if the robots in Wall-E) instead we get a dancing car-bot

    Starscream getting kneed in the gut by Optimus was great and so was Mudflap getting sucked in by Devastator (even though it looks like he survives by hanging on to the side of Devs mouth).

  • Never judge VFX from trailers. Often, you will take shortcuts to pull a shot together for a trailer and then have to redo the work. Its like you're building a big ass bridge, and someone needs to get over the side quickly, so you have to lay down a plank of wood next to the main bridge. Then you go back to building the metal bridge.

    And its going to be unfinished anyway. It'll take 3 weeks to strike the prints for this, so the VFX won't be wrapped until end of May. The final month counts a HUGE amount - usually the 3D elements are finished and the comp department can do their job of making it sit.
  • Can't fucking wait. This looks epic. It's probably going to be 99.9% explosions, but i don't care!
