toy story 2

Disney announced at their ShoWest presentation that Pixar’s Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will be released as a 3D double feature on October 2nd 2009. The 2 week only limited engagement is being called a “great value” in these economically challenging times. No word on what price theaters will charge for the double feature. Disney originally had the first Toy Story 3D rerelease scheduled for October, and the second one set for February. Disney also premiered updated logos for Toy Story and Toy Story 2 which feature a greater 3D bevel and more reflective elements, but for the most part, look the same. Toy Story 3 is still scheduled for a June 18th 2010 release.

  • A week before my birthday. Most excellent! Happy 28th to me! Well in 6 months or so. Can't wait!

A double feature in 3D!? My eyes are going to hurt.
  • Can't wait for TS3.

I'm not sure about this 3D movies thing. I don't really like seeing movies with a pair of glasses.
  • i dont like that its only a two week deal. And even for them, you'll make a lot of money in the short term but if you gave this thing a full release you would probably get a lot of income. Plus i wouldnt have to stress about getting a ticket

"That wasn't flying, that was...falling with style."
  • It'll be nice just to see them in the theater again.
  • i don't like the idea of double-featuring. i'd rather pay twice than have to sit through 3hrs worth of footage. when i watch two movies in a row i need at least a couple of hours break time or else the 2 movies kind of fall into each other. does anyone else have this "problem"?
  • I'm so there...
  • Yes, this will be great!

You can definitely tell now this is for movie fans.
  • Damn, I wish this was happening in Australia. *Fingers crossed at least a couple of theaters in Melbourne will screen them*
  • I hope making Toy Story 3D doesn't completely botch it up. If it 'aint broke, don't fix it.
  • I guess it's a good idea if there looking for a slightly older audenace that remebers seeing it in theaters the first time around. But I don't know if they're gonna get the younger demo, it's hard enough to get a younger kid to set still through one 90min movie let alone two.
  • but kids love CGI and animated movies....
  • Yes, they enjoy animated movies for the usual 90 minutes. Stretch that any longer and you soon have chairs being kicked, fidgeting and restlessness. I'm talking 4-6 year olds, of course.

Totally taking my 7 yr old to see them both & possibly the 2 yr old to at least one of them, she may not make it through both, Gramma may have to come pick her up in the middle. I remember when TS came out in my Sr year of High School I was totally blown away. TS 1&2 were the VERY FIRST movies I bought when I moved out on my own and bought my own DVD player :) Love my Disney movies, 'specially the Pixar ones!!! On our way to meet Buzz Woody & "The Mouse" in person in 2 weeks!!!
