wall-e recast

What would Pixar’s WALL-E look like if it was an anime series starring human characters instead of robots? Or what about Finding Nemo set on land instead of the ocean? These two Pixar/Andrew Stanton reimaginings were found on 4chan. The Finding Nemo art (available after the jump) is credited to Andrew Kalko, but I’m not sure who created the Wall-E piece.

    What about Bruce?
  • The Australian remake of Frank Ozs 1991 masterpiece What About Bob? Starring Paul Hogan and Chopper directed by Frank Oz?

Whats that got to do with anything?
  • No, he means the big Aussie shark from "Nemo"
  • ugh
    FAIL.
  • 4chan on my /Film? I never thought I'd see the day...
  • Funny, the Wall-E characters looks pretty good for being over 700 years old.

A couple google searches indicates that the wall-e personification is done by "*BechnoKid" on DeviantArt.

Slightly related is this anime characterization I found interesting:

hahaha just trying to give credit where it's due i suppose
  • OK. Ummm. All I can say is, I guess I'm glad they went with robots and fish, respectively.
  • Those are really cool, now how about the Incredible family as Rats, just cause.

the wall-e painting was made by bechnokid on deviantart
  • It's going to be hilarious when people get curious about what 4chan is and decide to look it up.
  • Reminds me of this webcomic: http://tinyurl.com/cjc4vx
  • This looks great !

I'm more interested in seeing what it would be like if The Godfather featured an all robot cast.
  • go watch shark tale and you have the god father with sharks.
  • Reminds me of the ending to Beauty and the Beast.
  • My favourite comment of the day.
  • Sloppy
Definitely glad they went with robots and fish, although they do have their own charms.

Another thing that I'd like to note though. I'm starting to observe a disturbing trend where a lot of North American cartoon art is being referred to as anime. They both have their own distinctive charm, and no matter how I look at it, the two artwork here falls faithfully towards the North American cartoon style. I think people should be proud to call their artworks cartoons, calling it anything else just betrays its quality homely origins.
  • Another comment I liked today. Must be my lucky day.
  • ahaha thsoe are awesome

  • Agree 100%. While I think the Wall E humanoids don't look half-bad, something is lost on the Nemo re-imagining (Is that a janitor chasing the one-armed boy and crazy lady?).
  • brad
I couldn't disagree with you more on which is the superior re-imagining. The Finding Nemo one is far superior. I think it's amazing that the human characters really look like their fish counterparts.

When referencing 4chan, you should always, always, warn people. It is not some site to casually explore. Just saying. Friends don't let friends visit 4chan.
  • Lou Cypher
I'll have to disagree. I think 4chan is one of the cutest and friendliest sites on the Internet. I visit it all the time. The people there are very nice, and they mostly spend their time sharing pictures of adorable kittens or lovely ladies and commenting them. Sometimes the ladies themselves will stop by and chat with the guys. The site has various sections, and the most popular, /b, has the world's most brilliant minds engaged in intensive discussions on some of today's hottest topics. Also, there are no rules, anyone can write about anything. If you've just met the love of your life, you can go online and share the happiness with everybody else. We're all like one big happy family.

  • I don't see it... They're both apocalyptic, but in very different ways.

Wall-E is A Brave New World for kids
  • Haha oh 4chan...anyway, I think these are really good. They both have their own good qualities. I wish there could be more, like something for the Ratatoille rats or something.
  • this is stupid...
  • Eve Looks far too friendly for her character... I wonder what Burn-E would look like
  • Palmer
Whoa, something decent coming out of 4chan! I thought I'd never see the day!
  • GoreBaby
    GREAT MOVIE NEWS!!
  • theß
hahahah oh crap I just laugh my ass off when I saw nemo without his little arm...
  • I like the Wall-E one better.
  • maracle
well as we leaned from the slash filmcast. if wall e and eve were human then wall e would have viciously raped eve instead of holding her hand.
  • A Cars one would be better.
  • who's on the far right in Nemo? I can't figure it out.
