slither concept posters

James Gunn has posted a gallery of test posters for his horror film Slither. It’s always fun to see the concepts they didn’t use. It seems like I always find at least one that I liked more than the final release, but with Slither, I actually really dug the poster which showed the creatures approaching the bathtub more than the unused concepts.

Terry Crews in the Expendables!!!! Not only is he a perfect choice but he's a former Charger as well...GO BOLTS!
  • I think it's safe to say Twilight didn't beat Dark Knight in sales. Congratulations, you won the bet.
  • Grant Morrison new thing, i bet it's going to be long and boring but have great art like Final Crisis and Batman RIP
  • i love page 2. short and sweet.
  • 3 million country wide or worldwide??
  • While I was 'meh' about 50 being in it, there was no denying he would have sold extra tickets through his fans alone. Mind you, one might also consider the number of people who avoided it because it starred 50. Anyway that's all academic now... Crews is in. I have no idea who this guy is except a footballer? So clearly this role is being cast for beefy body image as apposed to acting ability.
  • He's been in a few Adam Sandler movies. He's in the new Terminator Salvation movie. I'm sure if you google the guy you would recognize him.

Anyway, yeah I agree with you if 50 was in, he would have sold more tickets I'm sure. I think that the job isn't that big so that is why both Forest and 50 didn't accept it.
  • yep, it's cleary about expanding the audience target. 50 has a lot of fans.
  • lol yeah, I was going to say the same thing. It's a pretty good song too! Not too sure about the correlation of the lyrics of the song with Karate Kid, other than that the main character's name from the movie is Daniel, but that's pretty cool still.
  • Terry Crews: The Office Linebacker? Thats cool...
  • icko
i was thinking the same person....but sadly not the linebacker but the big black guy from white chicks
  • colin
that girl is Bat For Lashes. and i highly, highly doubt its a tattoo. because it would be extremely stupid and tacky.
  • Yep...thats Natasha Khan. She's not the kind of girl to have that be a real tattoo.
  • hey Peter, could you provide the list of the top 4 dvd sellers within the first 24 hours of release?

I'm excited for the Bear and the Bow, it sounds like a great premise.

That role for the Expendables is becoming a revolving door.

The Wii getting streaming? I wonder if the overall quality will even be close to the experience on an X-box.
  • the top five best first day DVD releases over the past two years along with PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END, THE DARK KNIGHT, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, and TRANSFORMERS.
  • I'm guessing that they only started recording this statistic 2 years ago? Thanks btw.
  • How many copies did The Dark Knight sale on its first day of release? I have a bet with a friend that Twilight wouldn't beat The Dark Knight.
  • Lol @ Chris Nolans brother
  • I'm not sure if this is good or bad news for Stallone's Expendables. I didn't mind 50 cent being in the movie but I could care less if Terry Crews is in it either. What do you guys think about the updated cast?
  • wow, that Karate Kid tattoo is so stupid and tacky. that girl is a douche.
  • That is clearly painted on, definitely not a tattoo.
  • I do agree with you that it's stupid and tacky, but most tattoos are.
  • Zinc
Holy shit, Chris Nolan's brother is a bank robber and murderer?
  • mattnolanisriddler
    Why so serious?
    ...
    ...just kidding;
    HOLY ANTAGONIST ANALOGY, BATMAN!
I actually did a double-take when I saw that bit; I'm just as surprised as you are Zinc because that's crazy.
  • i know o_O
  • The one on the left sucks, but the other two Slither posters are cool. Very underrated movie.
  • I guess Pixar decided it needed a strong female character.
  • thank god.
  • I guess Pixar decided it needed a strong female character after all.
  • Palmer
Terry Crews? I'm not entirely against that. But I am against Reese Witherspoon doing a Scottish accent.
  • Seriously...and what the hell...a girl from royalty who'd rather be an archer AND is scottish?! That sounds like the most amazing character ever! All she needs is..., I don't know..., some background that's interesting, and she'll be set! If they turn the girl into a fox, I'd be sold.
  • SKADOUCHE
    that songs kinda weird
  • psc423
    That IS bat for lashes.
  • the beautiful natasha khan, posing with her daniel tattoo. the song daniel is really about her first crush daniel larusso(karate kid) but the song itself is about her first boyfriend. obviously with this is the element of nostalgia-the long summer, walks through woods etc but also the innocence and joy that is first love. it was a wonderful time but it didn't last and she wants it back because it was probabaly when she was happiest. i also think that the music itself is in a particular style to mimic the music of that time and bring back elements of the memories. the second verse is something I can't really deciphe too well- of course it is something unpleasant that happened between natasha and 'daniel' (the use of good-bye bed makes it sound as if he died-I don't think he actually did, but who knows.) perhaps she's trying to let go of his memory, but still thinks back for comfort-she wants that romance back(home- a place of comfort but also may have links with her actually home).

the theme of loneliness is incredibly strong on this new album (from what I've heard Natasha had just split from her long term boyfriend whilst writing it-once again I don't know for a fact if this is true)but this song is just another manifestation of loneliness and how she combats it (as was the creation of pearl, hence the album titled, two suns.
so far i've heard about three beautiful tracks from the album which sound great but as selfish as i am i want more. can't wait till the album comes out :)
