Miss something in the new Terminator Salvation movie trailer? We have 50 high definition screen captures after the jump.

Warner Bros has released the new trailer for Terminator Salvation, which will be attached to Watchmen, on Yahoo. The trailer gives us a better look at the story of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a man who discovers the hard way that he’s no longer human, and is instead a Cyborg Terminator. It’s kinda of like the opposite of The Matrix — instead of finding out that the world you know is fake, you discover that you are, in many ways, not who you thought you were. We get to see how the machines imprison the humans in giant cattle bins, using their stem cells to create a more realistic, more human-looking form of Terminators. The ever-wonderful Production Weekly have Tweeted up their latest uncovering. It’s short enough to quote in its entirety, so here goes:
McG is attached to direct Medieval, a spec script by Mike Finch & Alex Litvak, described as The Dirty Dozen set in medieval times.
As far as I know, Finch and Litvak previously worked together when Litvak was a producer moving Finch’s Adrenaline through development. I guess co-writing is a new thing for them because I can’t find any reports or trace of other scripts they’ve tapped out in partnership.
It’s a Wonderful Afterlife: My Big Fat Greek Wedding Meets Shaun of the Dead
Posted on Monday, March 2nd, 2009 by Brendon Connelly

Gurinder Chadha is lining up a loaded slate of Indian-British co-productions, and according to Variety the first before the lens will be It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. She pitches the project as My Big Fat Wedding meets Shaun of the Dead, which sounds promising, particularly if Shaun has his cricket bat and uses it to chip some Big, Fat and Greek teeth. Not because of their size, adipose content or nationality - of course! - but because they’re taking part in that sickening frickin’ film. I hoped that would go without saying.
Afterlife was stalled last year when one of the funding bodies was hit by the terrorist attacks on Mumbai. With fresh greenbacks in the sack, production is now set to kick off in April and Chadha has been busy corralling a cast. Alongside Sanjeev Bhaskar, who I’m readily familiar with from British TV, she has also cast Shabana Azmi and Sendhil Ramamurthy who I can recall fairly well and Shaheen Khan, who I don’t know at all.

For a while now, Kevin Smith has been trying t get his indie horror film Red State off the ground. But by the director’s own admission, the project isn’t exactly marketable, and the plan was to film it on the cheap with no big stars. It seemed obvious to me that the film is going to take a few years to get off the ground, and won’t be going into production any time soon.
Now ERC Box Office is reporting that Kevin Smith will be directing a movie called A Couple of Dicks for Warner Bros. This will be a big departure for Smith — not only is the film being produced outside of Miramax/The Weinstein Co (aka his first big studio film), but this would be the first feature film project that Smith didn’t write himself. Recently Smith has made comments on his podcast, Smodcast, that he wouldn’t be against directing someone else’s screenplay, a possibility he had ruled out in his earlier years. It should be noted that Smith has tested the waters by directing the pilot episode of the CW television show Reaper.

Mark Romanek Casts Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield in Never Let Me Go
Posted on Monday, March 2nd, 2009 by Brendon Connelly

You already know that Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield are very talented and excited actors, but did you realize Keira Knightley was too? Me either. According to the casting news in Variety this morning, Mark Romanek seems to have cottoned on to something in her woody ways, however, and he’s set the wisp-waif to star in his upcoming sci-fi thriller Never Let Me Go. I’m hoping she’s not the loaded gun in a budget hijack.
Never Let Me Go is adapted from a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro by Alex Garland, previously guilty of The Beach, Sunshine and 28 Days Later. Essentially, it tells the story of Kathy and her friends Ruth and Tommy at boarding school and then, later, a kind of mysterious R&R hang out known as The Cottages where they lead fairly relaxed and pleasant, if closely-watched lives. Where does the sci-fi come in? The main characters each have a very specific reason to exist - and you might consider this a spoiler, so skip ahead to the next paragraph if you’re feeling wussy. They’ve been bred to serve as organ donors. These “clones” (not really, I don’t think) are used to provide bits of bodygubbins to others after they “complete” - which is the novel’s euphemism for dying - and unfortunately they are expected to “complete” at a young and healthy age. Another sci-fi component worth noting is that outside of the comfy harbouring locales, the world is apparently rather dystopic.

AICN has gotten new details on TRON 2.0. According to a “reliable tipster” the story takes place 25 years after the original film. Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) has disappeared after creating some of the world’s top selling game of all time and fathering a son. ENCOM head Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner) presents twenty-something-year-old Sean Flynn (possibly Garrett Hedlund?) with information that propels him on a journey to find his long lost father.
Sucked into the game, Sean is taken in by a group/program called ISOs that believe he will free them from the belligerence of a CLU character that his father created and has gone corrupt. The character looks like a younger version of Flynn (we saw him at the end of the Comic Con test footage/trailer). There’s supposedly a huge disc battle and a light cycle versus light jet duel, with both the cycle and the jet creating light walls.
I just wonder why the original Flynn is trapped inside the computer, and why he hasn’t come to the aid of the ISOs. It sounds kinda like The Matrix, but if Neo had decided that he wasn’t the one, and just went into hiding in the computer world and let Agent Smith take over. Sounds like a cool premise, and the source claims that Bridges is “embracing it”, “going all out for this role”, and that “fans will go gaa gaa.” I can’t wait.

At the IDW Comics panel at WonderCon over the weekend, it was revealed that the end of the four issue Star Trek comic book miniseries prequel to the movie contains “a cliffhanger and is going to continue in the first few minutes of the movie.” LatinoReview reported that one of the writers or artists on the panel said that a Next Generation cast member would be part of it. But when someone in the audience asked if this would mean that a Next Generation cast member (or members) would appear in the opening of the new Trek movie, the guy responded with “I really cannot say anything about that.” So does this mean that we’ll be seeing Picard or Data in the new JJ Abrams movie?
My sources tell me that is not the case at all, and TrekMovie also confirms that while some of the Next Generation cast members appear in the prequel comic, they will not appear on the big screen. And knowing what I know about the plot of the new movie it makes sense. Involving TNG cast members would completely confuse the new audience Abrams and Paramount hopes to bring to the franchise. You already have time travel and alternative timelines with two Spocks. As cool as it would be to see Picard or one of the other Next Generation guys on screen, it could make things too confusing for normal audiences.

Update: This report has been debunked.
Production Weekly is reporting that Ghostbusters 3 is now officially being produced by Judd Apatow Productions. No big shock here, considering the initial rumors had most of the Apatow players cast as the film’s new Ghostbusters. Last we heard, Dan Aykroyd said that Office scribes Lee Eisenberg and Greg Stupnitsky started working on the script this Summer and that they were aiming for a fall 2009 production start. However, we’ve gotten no official word if the screenplay drafts that have been handed in thus far are worthy of a greenlight from the studio.
Discuss: Which Apatow players would you cast as the new Ghostbusters?
