South Park Takes on Watchmen and The Dark Knight

Last night’s episode of South Park took aim at Watchmen, The Dark Knight, The Spirit and the new trend in Hollywood to produce darker superhero movies. Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns even makes a cameo. Watch a clip above or the full episode on SouthParkStudios.com.

  • This was great.
  • "I'm not Eric Cartmen and he's not fat!"
  • After The Jonas Brothers episode and now this, it looks like we're in for another amazing season.
  • Oh man that episode was even better than this one. Having Mickey Mouse do that laugh every sentence like it was some nervous tick of a psychopath. "YOU DON'T, FUCKING, TALK TO ME LIKE THAT! haha"
  • I liked how every other word in the JoBro's song was: BAYBAAAY!
  • Yeah well, it's south park. Not funny.
  • Trey Parker and Matt Stone continue to put out some of the freshest content around.

    great episode.
  • When did Southpark come back?!?! ?
  • CementO
    Dark Knight Returns on 08:01
Damn greeeat episode, nice way to start the new season :D
  • BamaJuice
Awesome episode. I was laughing pretty much the entire time.
  • binaryshock
another great episode, lets hope the continue like this and not give us more episodes like the cloverfield spoof
  • When did it leave?
  • Absolutely. Not only was I not aware of the recent invasion of Pan Flute Bands(maybe more of a west coast thing?) , but they wasted 2 episodes on that shit.
  • The Pan Flute Part wasn't that bad. The Gerbil part was.
  • Pan flutes are all over NYC too...
  • It is actually a guinea pig not a gerbil.
  • South park is Awesome!
    Another amazing ep!
  • Semantics...Mr. Slave has no prejudice.
  • I will say that they started off with a bang this year. (haha)
I love it when they take down the mouse (haha)
and insult the Jonas brothers, Babe-ay.
  • Eh. A decent episode. Last weeks was funnier. Honestly last season was terrible. This season is slightly better, but it still needs to pick up to get to it's glory days.
  • South Park rule the waves !
  • These last two episodes have been decent, not awesome or really hilarious, but they didn't stink either.
  • Fuck! Can't believe I missed this...lol I love south park...

Nice to see Southpark alive and Kicking, I have to watch this whole episode now, totally forgot about my favorite shows this week.

P.S. I don't know if I should be offended about him being named "The Coon".
  • One of the funniest South Parks I've seen in awhile.
  • Rolodex
Was I the only one who didn't find this episode very appealing? Yeah, I got the whole Watchmen/Dark Knight parody, but I just didn't find this one to be very clever at all. I would say it's kind of a forgettable episode...
  • shogun90
yeh you are the only one.
  • I thought it was clever, not all that funny though. Still an enjoyable watch, better than anything The Simpsons has to offer these days (or for the past 5 years).
  • so obviously you dont watch south park.
  • the idea of the episode was good, but it could have been done better. im probably just saying that because i expect nothing but the best from those guys now. id like to see more plots that last more than one episode, like imaginationland did, but i cant complain.

    P.S.
who is mysterion? kenny, craig stan, maybe wendy?
  • psbp
Where was the watchmen in the episode, I saw only dark knight influences.
  • You Are Fail
Uhh, the opening scene? The Coon narrating? What, you didn't draw comparison to Rorschach?
  • That episode was horrible. I barley laughed and all the other times I was cringing on how bad some of the jokes were. South Park is just becoming a bunch of pop-culture jokes.
  • Mycle
    The Kewn! :p
  • starscream9289
But who the fuck is Mysterion?

    That's the real question.
  • Oh South Park, how I love you. When are we going to get a movie sequel?
  • Bruce Vilanch as Cartmen as The Coon.
  • That was possibly the best part of the episode.

Just another reason to love the show and buy all the dvds.
South Park is the NC -17 version of the Simpsons. (In a stoned kinda way)

    Hella cool!
  • I watched it when i was 14 and watch a few new clips now and then, but even back then it wasn't funny.
  • Bad
This episode was awful. They sacrifice humor to be topical sometimes. This was one of those episodes
  • I found the Bruce Vilance references HYSTERICAL.

However, the episode as a whole was ok, it was not a masterpiece.
