Lionsgate Premieres Crank 2 Poster on Twitter

Lionsgate has released the outdoor poster advertising for Crank: High Voltage on Twitter, making them the first studio to premiere exclusive content on the micro-blogging platform. As you know, you can follow us on twitter at twitter.com/slashfilm. The poster is very, very… yellow. Check out the full sized poster after the jump.

In this high-octane sequel, hitman Chev Chelios (Statham) launches himself on an electrifying chase through Los Angeles in pursuit of the Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart. CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE is written and directed by Neveldine/Taylor, the duo behind the 2006 hit film CRANK, and the upcoming GAME starring Gerard Butler.

Jason Statham (THE TRANSPORTER, THE BANK JOB) returns to star as hitman Chev Chelios. Reprising their roles from the 2006 original are Amy Smart (ROAD TRIP, the upcoming MIRRORS) as Eve, Dwight Yoakam (SLING BLADE) as Doc Miles, and Efren Ramirez (NAPOLEON DYNAMITE) as Venus. Rounding out the cast are Clifton Collins Jr. (CAPOTE, the upcoming STAR TREK prequel) and Bai Ling (RED CORNER, the upcoming LOVE RANCH).

Crank: High Voltage hits theaters on April 17th, 2009.

  • People keep complaining about how this movie is going to suck because there is no way he could have lived and it's completely ridicules, but thats the point of the movie. The first movie was completely ridicules as well. Almost non of the stuff he does is possible. They are making the movie to be entertaining, like the first one was. Not for the plot, you would know that if you watched the first movie, the plot was completely ridicules.

    not quite as good as the jump cable/tongue combination but its still cool. I am really stoked for this flick though, we need this kind of OTT action.

  • I'm liking this poster for the exact same reason. It's a mile away from the stock standard movie posters and doesn't try to be anything more than it needs to be.

    Loved the first Crank and I have no doubt I'm gonna love this film too. C'mon, he get's his heart ripped off and needs high voltage to keep him alive as he kills the bad guys who took it...and it's Statham...what's there not to love?
  • The first movie was entertaining as hell! Isn't that why we watch movies? We watch for the stuff that may/can never ever happen in real life. Just like Shoot Em' Up and Crank...I expect High Voltage to be a fun ride. Those movies are almost like video games brought to life without the video game.

    A Movie with Statham is always fun and with Amy Smart (HOT) & Dwight Yoakam (Amazing Actor) gives me all the more reason to see this, again for the first time. ;)

  • I've been seeing this poster around LA all week. Kinda cool. I like the one where he has the car batteries attached to his nipple and tongue better.

    Never thought I would, but loved the 1st one. When I heard they were making a second I was immediately upset. Then I saw the first trailer for it and thought, wow, it might actually be BETTER than the first one. Looking forward to it.
