Transformers 3 on July 1st 2011

Paramount and DreamWorks have officially announced that they will be making Transformers 3, and releasing the film on Friday, July 1st 2011. No word on if Michael Bay or stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are set to return, but I would be really surprised if it didn’t happen.

Summer 2011 is really beginning to shape up as Transformers becomes the third film announced thus far for July — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II hits on the 15th and Marvel’s The First Avenger: Captain America hits on the 22nd. Paramount has also moved up the release date of Marvel’s Thor to May 20th to give the threequel more breathing room.

Many fans hope that Warner Bros will announce a sequel to The Dark Knight for Summer 2011, but logistically, it’s looking more like Summer 2012. There is only so many big blockbuster movies that can be released in the hot month of July, and 2011 is beginning to fill up fast.

    I Hate You. Michael Bay Is An amazing Director! Although Batman And HarryPotter Are being released in the same month i don't think this will effect the popularity of Transformers3. Transformers will definitely be more popular Than Batman and maybe even more popular Than Harry Potter. Although Harry Potter is highly anticipated i think Transformers msy be more popular. "Transformers:Revenge Of The Fallen" sold out just as fast as "Harry Potter:The Half Blood Prince". The Only thing that could possily ruin Transformers3 is if Bay introduced the character "Unciron" :P.

    This Seems REALLY Rushed.... At the rate they want this thing moving forward, they're gonna have to start shooting next summer at the latest. I certainly hope this was planned out and not Dreamworks and Paramount just wanting to hop on the Summer 2011 train.

    i hate to use the term, but not everyone is a film snob. a lot of people want to just see big explosions and transformers kicking each other's asses. When they announced the release date for Transformers 2 in my Imax theater, just about everyone started cheering. Not gonna flop.
  • I'm all for fun popcorn movies but the last film's story was really lousy...along with many useless jokes sprinkled in...I'm only worried about the writers strike effecting the quality of the script/story....it felt like the whole project was rushed into production and everyone involved thinking the people at ILM would fix any issues in post....

    I just don't want to be sorting out all the confusing plot holes when I should be enjoying the movie...kind of what happened with Indy 4...I'm not saying this won't make money but does it merit a sequel already? predicting it makes a lot of money doesn't mean they should make another film...it could be horrible for all we know
