Inside Judd Apatow’s Office

The New York Times offers us a look into the office of Knocked Up and 40-Year-Old-Virgin director Judd Apatow. On the wall he has a photo of himself from twenty years ago, standing next to fellow aspiring stand-up comics David Spade, Allen Covert and Adam Sandler. And on a shelf is a painting that “Seth Rogen made for him for some reason.” Head on over the NYTimes Art Beat for more.

Judd Apatow is the new M. Night Shyamalan. The first movie is really good, and each progressive attempt gets worse and worse.
  • I'm not looking for the inevitable Judd Apatow backlash once the general public or the internet community get tired of him. It's going to happen, it happens with all comedy. I love his work but like everyone in comedy they have a fairly short shelf life. That photo with sandler and spade is awesome.
  • I actually saw him about a month ago on 3rd street promenade, Santa Monica with his wife and family. He seemed like a pretty cool dad, playful with his daughters and holding his wife.

But I guess anyone would always seem happy when you're making millions.

Plus, love the painting Seth Rogen did. amazing.

Well there is that giant glass ass plug on the coffee table.

I'm kind of disappointed. I figured they would have shown a room strewn with dildos.
  • I know had no idea he was married to Leslie Mann, I guess you learn something new everyday. Nor, did I expect to see a picture, and an odd one at that, painted by Seth Rogen. He must have been smoking something a little iffy when he did that! xD
  • Seth Rogen WOULD paint that picture for him

I have such the man crush on him

  • yeah, the funny thing that is most of John Hughes related movies aren't even directed by Hughes himself. I think Apatow has that vibe. No matter who the director is, if Judd's in the credits then it's a 'Judd Apatow' movie. (Though Greg Mottola and David Gordon Green are pretty big themselves).
  • that photo is by far the coolest photo from the article.

the photo of his family with Zac Efron is probably the lamest.
  • my sentiments exactly! his movies capture the mood of 2000s raunchy male culture.

    that photo is really cool
  • Agreed.
  • Who thinks that Judd in the next 20 of years will be regarded as the 2000s version of John Hughes?
