How bad is the economy? Even Lex Luthor is asking for a bailout. Filmmaker Eric Appel’s latest Funny or Die gem features Golden Globe-winning television actor Jon Hamm (Mad Men) as Lex Luthor, appealing for Lexcorp to be given a $100 billion bailout. And guess whose fault it was that Lexcorp fell into financial hardship? That’s right, Superman. Watch the video after the jump.

    I just watched season one of Mad Men and I would like to extend my vote for Jon Hamm as Superman. Let's set it in 1950's New York as well.

    From the very first time I saw this guy on the pilot for Mad Men, I asked my brother, "Is it me, or does he look a lot like the classic Superman?"
    Now I, like so many others, don't know which character I'd rather see him play... Jon Hamm rocks.

  • This thing is so wonderfully ridiculous. It's been so great to see Hamm work is comedy chops SNL, 30 Rock and now this. The man, he is talented. And you gotta love that deliberately terrible bald cap. :P

  • This was shot with the RED camera. It's 4x+ better then 1080p, that's why the bald cap looked so detailed and distinguishable.

    Yet it's compressed in Flash, shown in a 468 x 260 player... I really don't think it being a RED camera changes anything. Not a fact, just my opinion.=/

  • That movie was just terrible. It wasn't all Spacey's fault. It wasn't his best work. Spacey has shown he can be good in other movies so I don't blame him for Luthor sucking along with the rest of the film.

    If he were the new Superman in the reboot I'd be extremely happy. The first time I saw the vid I thought that was so ironic. Hamm playing Lex when he should be Superman.

    You know what...I have to agree he would play a good LL. He'd have to be less funny and more diabolical though in the movie. Maybe they could even get the guy who plays Luthor on Smallville to play his younger self in flashbacks. See, why can fucking WB Execs. think like us????
