Drag Me To Hell Movie Trailer

drag me to hell

Before Sam Raimi made mega-blockbusters Spider-Man 1 through 3, he was revered by film geeks for films like Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. His newest film, Drag Me To Hell, looks to be a return to form: Early buzz on the film has been pretty positive and a work-in-progress print of the film is scheduled to premiere at SXSW. Today, the trailer for Drag Me To Hell has surfaced online. Hit the jump to check it out and let us know what you think in the comments!

  • Nice, looks like its going to live up to the hype. Its nice to have Raimi back to horror. Looks like a lot of fun. Also I always thought Allison Loahman never got enough cred- Big Fish and Beowulf. So hopefully this gets her more spot light.
  • i jumped. looks like a good horror flick in the making
  • Superb.
  • Looks awesome! Finally a good horror movie. (how long has it been?!)
  • LOL. So, I just watched like four minutes of it over on spill.com and this looks hilarious.
  • not exactly back to form, but im excited!

    1. I'm going to be needing to borrow you're screener when you get it. I promise I'll get it back to you just as soon as I've watched it 5 or 6 times.

    2. I'm guessing the old witch drives the 88 in this flick.

Preposterous!!!.... why on earth would the Devil need a financial loan? Al Pacino had things under control.
  • haha wow i jumped a lil haven't been scared at a movie in a long long time.
  • Peter
Hate to be "that guy" but I think it looks like garbage... premise didn't grab me and the rest looks like just another one of those crappy horror movies Raimi has been producing in the past few years....
But I might check it out.
  • I've got to agree. I'm hopeful that the actual film will deliver, but if no one knew that Sam Raimi was directing this, and they saw the trailer, I'm not so sure everyone would be shouting its praises. It's fairly 'by the numbers' if you ask me.
Also the plot, even for a horror flick, seems kind of weird, why would a demon need a loan? (There's probably more to it than that I know)
  • I don't think she was a demon, but cursed the chick with a demon...

Yeah, I was a bit skeptical when I saw the posters and heard buzz about it, but then I went over to RT and found that out of the 14 reviews it has received, all 14 were positive. Then I saw the trailer. When the lady showed up in the bed...damn, that almost gave me a heart attack!
Anyways, I will definitely check this out!
  • This looks great! Feels totally different from the current craptacular horror movies like the Ring. Back to the classics.
  • Oh baby. This is gonna be sweet. Even if Bruce Campbell doesn't show up in any capacity. It's nice it's getting a summer release, so we have films that aren't big blockbusters that thrive closer to artistic principles than technical ones (eg big budget films with bad/mediocre/average scripts)
  • looks wonderful.
  • Yeah. I guess you know the financial meltdown is bad when devils are asking for load extensions... and not getting them. :o

    Sounds horrifying to me.

    This looks awesome
  • Looks like classic horror
  • It's fine. There is always "That Guy" Are you a horror fan perchance?
  • I don't want to jump on the bandwagon, but I am currently holding on to the bumper. It looks fun, and pretty decent.
  • The only part that concerned me was the pretty bad CGI hands that are dragging her down at the end. Maybe it's early footage or maybe there's more to the scene that justifies the sketchy effects, but I really hope this isn't a CGI-fest.
  • where's the Tree Rape?
  • 1:27 will haunt me for a long time.. and is also my new wallpaper :)

  • looks like a nice return to form. Maybe dipping back into horror will prompt him to make the new Evil Dead movie with a $25k budget that he's been talking about for years
  • Ah hell yeah!
  • yes
Looks so damn intense, needless to say, I shat myself
  • filmkid
seems good if this goes well he should give us Evil Dead 4

People, this is Sam Raimi. His idea of horror includes comedy. Haven't you seen the Evil Dead series? Sheesh..
  • whoo! I'm jumping on the bandwagon of excited. The music used in the trailer makes it feel just over the top epic. LoL
  • i have 4 comments:

    1) HELL YES!
    2) Was "David" being played by "Miles" from LOST? right there at the beginning...
    3) Justin Long?
    4) "From the Director of THE EVIL DEAD TRILOGY" ftw.

  • Hard to say if it's going to be any good... All horror movies from the US in the last few years are really bad (maybe a few exceptions..) but who knows.. maybe this one will surprise me.
  • I wouldn't say ALL horror movies from the US have been bad. Cloverfield was a blast (although it's more like a theme park ride than a movie) and The Mist is already one of my all time favorites. Heck, even our [Rec] remake Quarantine was pretty solid.

The problem with US horror is that the good ones never get a proper release, if they get released at all. You'll see what I mean when they finally release Trick 'R Treat.
  • When can we get to see that movie? I've heard so many good things about it.
  • I have to agree with 3 movies you just mentioned. I really enjoyed Cloverfield, Quarantine and the Mist. But my comment was aiming more towards movies like Boogeyman, Darkness Falls, The Eye, etc. All those movies are the same if you ask me.

I'm having more fun these days with European horror flicks like Eden Lake and Creep.
  • JEEPERS_FAN
Is anyone else kind of happy Justin Long's back in horror?

    Jeepers Creepers was cool.
  • Karma bitch! Shoulda been nice to the old lady...But this movies doesn't look too bad, I'm def gonna check it out...
  • Don't remember the last time a trailer made me jump. Nice. Looking forward to this one.
  • I think one of my friends was a PA on this, can't wait to see it.
  • Why would the bad people, ghost, vampire or what ever it is, target the poor loan officer that is just doing its job? why put all your supernatural powers just to harass a simple person and not for example the bank CEO?????
  • Oh, cause it's a movie.
  • it's a movie but with all the billions Hollywood invests in movies one thinks that they can hire better script/story writers.
  • That's what I said. Shouldn't she have put the curse on her boss? I guess no one wants to see a balding, middle-aged man running away from scary things!

You'd think demonic powers would have something better to do than chase around bank workers. Hell is losing it's edge.
  • Justin
Hey, look, a young, skinny, blonde actress in a horror movie with actual talent.

Glad to finally see Sam return to his form.
  • ifthenwhy
This looks astoundingly mediocre. Where is that Raimi invention and wit? You know, the stuff that made Evil Dead 2 so much fun? Granted this is only a trailer, but it looks surprisingly pedestrian to me.
  • Please. Evil Dead 4 set in that apocalyptic future at the end of the Army of Darkness. Crazy eyed and haired hermit Bruce Campbell living in that cave.
