terminator 3 videogame

TheArnoldFans caught up with Arnold Schwarzenegger at the 2009 Arnold Classic and were able to find out what the Govenator’s hesitations are with appearing in McG’s Terminator Salvation.

“I have seen the movie, but I have not seen it as a finished product yet. I have not seen it yet with the Terminator special effects and some of the sound and the music is not in there yet and so on. So I really cannot comment on it, what the movie will be like as a finished product. There’s a rule that you never talk about a movie unless you have seen the finished product. But you know as I said to the director when they began that I wish them the best of luck, that I’m happy that they move forward with the franchise, I am very happy with where I am with my profession as the governor and they should try to find a way of doing a story that does not include me at all, not even one single shot in it. I don’t believe in that. To kind of have them go out and promote the movie and say you know Arnold is in the movie and everyone thinks that I’m the Terminator and in fact you only see one second of me in there and so I don’t think thats the right thing to do. And you know that’s the danger of that, and that’s why I feel reluctant to be part of the movie in the first place. So it doesn’t get promoted that way.”

I’m pretty sure that Warner Bros would sign a contract agreeing not to promote Schwarzenegger’s appearance in the film, just to keep it as a treat for fans. But you can’t control the media, and it would be very easy for mainstream news sources to blow Arnold’s appearance out of proportion (which might be another reason to keep it secret until the film’s released). But it would certainly be cool to have him make a cameo appearance, and I hope it happens.

When doesn't the mainstream news blow things out of proportion?
  • Charles
Isn't this shit finished yet? WTF!!!! Fuck Arnold.
  • Palmer
When doesn't the mainstream news blow things out of proportion?
  • there would definitely be a spike in interest if Arnold's cameo is confirmed.

the trailer looked great already, but the governator could help seal the deal.
  • I cannot imagine watching this film without one passing scene showing T800's coming off an assembly line or at various stages over assembly for mass production. It really is one of the most impressive trailers I have ever seen - I hope the movie stands up because that trailer certainly got me excited to line up opening night for it.
  • I said the trailer was great first.
  • Jamie
    good for you dickhead
  • HAH!
  • Wait ths movie comes out in May...shouldn't stuff like this have been done by at least Jan?
  • at this point it's just a voice over...he already had his face digitized
  • I think he should get over himself and do it. It'll only give him more publicity.
  • The level of credibility that he will add to this film is something that shouldn't be overlooked. But, I think it's too late for McG and Warner to do anything about it now...
  • Michael
The question I have is...if they use Arnold's 'likeness' in some or any capacity in this one, and they have plans for two more films...what happens in the next two? Do we move forward in time to when the Robert Patrick T-1000s were developed in the future? I just feel like, if we get to the Arnold-likeness T-800s already in this film, I wonder where they can take it next...? I guess I imagined a 'slower build' to interpret that two ways... But I'm sure McGster and Bale have already discussed this to a point...and yes, I should wait to see the film, I suppose...! ;-)
  • starscream9289
I wonder what would've happened if he would've on the set when Bale went nuts?
  • "Hey, punk, shut up, or I will tax you!"
  • Finkenstein
I still think he will appear at the very end of the film, when the specific T-800 unit gets captured, reprogrammed and sent to the past to save John Connor from the T-1000.
  • I know this wouldn’t respect the original timeline, but this isn’t exactly the future Sarah Connor told us about, right?
  • Fuck it he's not getting re-elected anyway. California shitter economics is a direct result of deregulation under Arnold.

Get in the picture, somehow. I say.
  • 790
Haha. I think all of you are missing the point.
Arnolds seen the film and he's not happy.

    :)(
  • Yeah, it would be cool to see him in it but when it comes down to it we'll all be there to see it regardless. At least I will.
  • DontBeBack
How about stop worrying about whether or not you should be in a movie and work on getting me my damn refund check.
  • *Sigh*

Won't list any names here, but...

All I'll say is ...think Benjamin Button visual effects.

    Come May, watch.

Ahnuld and Bale are done professionally.
  • Not seeing him in this new Terminator will be the best thing for this film. McG wants to make this completely different from the rest, so he needs to keep Arni out of it. Will be much better seeing him in the 5 th film, just like when Casper Van Dien came back for Starship Troopers 3. Not the best film, but still was great seeing him back after a break in the films.
  • Shodan
Definitely a change in tune because some media (even celeb sits like TMZ) went on the attack as soon as they heard about it not even caring that it was just going to be a cameo in the film

Pity would have been nice to see at least at some point a CG arnold from the original terminator seen in a production line or something..

Other than the possibility of Arnold being in T4 for a second, which he's obviously against, it's pretty much too late in the game for production to resume in order to give him even a slightly more significant role. It's just isn't practical at this point and totally unnecessary as far as promoting the film because of the amount of hype already circulating.

However as stated, a surprise is not totally out of the question and would certainly bump the excitement up a notch.

PS: You know what's crazy? I graduated from a UC and Arnold's signature is on my diploma, lol!
  • ryan Coughlan
What part of cameo does he not understand???
  • Mainstream news = This just in: Schwarzenegger lets slip that he is indeed in the new terminator movie. The governator was giving an interview when he made the following statement: "...in fact you...see one second of me in there..." Tell everyone you know!
  • REAL6
I agree with a few of you in here on certain topics. This is what i would like. I dont want to see "GET TO DA CHOPPPPAAAA'' at all in 4. SHow him in the middle of 5 when they show the T-800 off the factory line or maybe at the end of part 4. I really dont know. Even if they just show him for a few mintues in any of the 3 new movies is just fine. Thats how they will tie all the movies together. Show him at the end of 4 how he is built and sent back. In part 5 they can show him being sent back in T2 after the T-1000 and thats when they can show Robert Patrick as a scientist and how the T-1000 was made. Then bring back Michael Biehn and put make up on him to look 20years younger and send him back to T1 and that will complete the whole Saga. But you have to have Arnie, Biehn and Patrick or the movies wont tie in together.

    My 2 cents :)

I can't help but read out his letter in his voice and thus, for some reason, can't take him seriously as a governor.

Frankly, if he wasn't in it, I don't think many would miss him. He'd only be in it for continuity's sake.
  • A twist ending where we lose Bale to the end of the world and everybody agrees to fetch him back. Arnold walks out and quickly says "I am back." Hell, even if he just said "I am Back" the world will probably explode because of the yelling of the fanboys.
  • I'm more interesting in a Linda Hamilton opening voice over...I don't think we'll be seeing the Arnold cameo until the next film...

I really hope Rose McGowan makes it into Terminator 5...since she's doing voice acting on the video game it would be interesting to see her as a solider in the next film...continuing the strong female characters in the franchise would be awesome....along with bringing back Robert Patrick
  • I really want Linda Hamilton to play Sarah Connor again. Without her, the movie is nothing.
  • Arnold's gonna be in the movie, no doubt.
He's gonna tell us to shut up and turn off our phones or else...!
  • I like Arnold's allegiance to his Terminator films and to Cameron. Yeah, he'll probably be in it, but it really isnt a terminator film. The terminator films, especially 1 and 2, are big budget movies with small scale story lines. They focus on a very select group of individuals and thats what makes them so frightening and stressful. When there is 1 terminator chasing only two or three people with the sole purpose to annihilate them, this amazing effect is achieved and it somehow comes across as realistic. The McTerminator is nothing like this, and while im not saying it will be a bad movie (entertaining at least), it isnt really a Terminator so to speak.

I think arnold agrees here, he knows its not the same story. Its not about the chase, its not about the sole mission to destroy Sarah or John, which we saw the franchise begin to detach from with T3 in regards to the killing of Connor's generals.

Ive always thought that Terminator 2 was one of the most realistic and terrifying films ive ever seen. It was a film so absurd, but was able to successful at completely suspending all disbelief. Cameron made us believe that this was how two terminators would act and subsequently react to changing situations in order to get their job done. They were efficient and they were flawless which, in turn, allowed the film to be as well. I just dont see this with T4, but I still see magic.
  • No Linda Hamilton and No Arnold please. Do you guys want the movie to be ruined?
  • tom
why do we need a new terminator?
  • Hahahahahaha!
  • I think/hope he is in it to make a cameo...I mean it wouldn't be Terminator without him...
  • You wanna know what I think? I think the Gov should just quit being a lil bitch.
  • Roger
Arnold does have a good point there. All throughout the Terminator franchise he has been the icon that promotes the film. Eventually they will need something new a fresh idea, because Arnold wont be around forever. I would like to see cameos of himn throughout the Terminator franchise because he has a big role in the story.
  • I think it would be cool if they told him not to tell anyone about the cameo and then we get to see it as a surprise whenever we get to finally see the movie. I understand where Arnold is coming from but if I knew that he would be in it for one second, that still wouldn't change my mind about seeing or not seeing this movie.
  • HE SHOULD DO IT FOR THE PEOPLE OF CALIFAWNIA !
  • He would be happy to appear in the movie, but really, all he wants to do is spend some time wiff chennyyyy
  • zackrobinson
i think you people should give the trailer another look... watch the newest one (as of april 1) - its obvious that connor and his homies capture a prototype teminator (T-101) that has been created by skynet using the skin harvested from marcus right. marcus was probably a friend of johns before being captured by the machines which would explain why he was chosen to be the first cyborg. this is the terminator sent back in t2 to save john and sarah after being reprogrammed by connor. this was mentioned in that wonderfully thought out film (not being sarcastic)... the only time we will see arnold in the new flick is when a shot of an assembly line of T-800's are being deployed like badasses probably somewhere near the end on the movie. just picture huge mofos with cgi of Schwarzeneggers face. he definitely wont have a speaking role but with arnie thats probably a good thing... thats all hes referring to in the interview above. its better this way. the only thing that could have made the overall story less confusing is to have another actor play in t2. ideally marcus right (guy chained up and rewired in salvation). but thats ridiculous and i already regret saying it.... but you get the idea. oh and lets all pretend that terminator 3 never fucking happened (james cameron did).... life will be better without it.

sorry to spoil... tell your friends zack erin and ninja called it.
  • I think the movies will kick ass and will tie all the earler movies together, the movie looks awesome even without arnie in a more candid role, little here and there will be just fine over the next 2 movies, the new time line that got alterd is new and fresh and will bring mystery into the new installment and new future that nobody knows about or what may come of it, thats why i think it will top the first 3, people will want to know what happens next after they watch this one and wonder, how will the next one be like? what will happen? If its done right by means of tieing up all 6 movies at the end it will be like how starwars tied up thing but from the middle to the end and then back to the beginnin but still intertwind all the main story lines, thats how they will make these movies work, also because its not the same time line as from the earlier movies, its slightly fixed and alterd future making the new terminater movies differnt with no indication what will happen at the end, will the resistence win or will sky net, all i know it will be an awesome story line
  • Kazzie
I know Arnie has other commitments but, Terminator films are not the same without him. His presence, his voice, his stature and that unforgetable look of The Terminator. Nothing and no one can compare.
