Disney has released a new trailer for Pixar’s Up which finally shows us the talking dog. Yes, a talking dog… One of the surprises in Pixar’s recent presentation of the first 45-minutes of Up was the addition of a gigantic rainbow colored bird and more specifically the addition of a pack of dogs who wear collars that allow them to speak like humans. But the new trailer lets the cat out of the bag, which is definitely the right thing to do.

Dug the Dog definitely works on screen, and there is a hilarious reoccurring squirrel gag (which you see in the trailer) that comes out of the concept. But if you don’t know about it going in, and 40-minutes into a movie dogs start talking, it’s rather jarring. I’m glad that Disney decided to put it in the trailer. On the other hand, I’m surprised that they included the film’s villain in the trailer considering he doesn’t appear in the first half of the movie and, from everything I’ve gathered, is a big reveal.
