Paramount Pictures has released the new trailer for JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek. We get to learn about James Kirk’s father, and the film’s real story — how he becomes the captain of the Enterprise. I’m not sure about you guys, but when I watched this trailer when they premiered it at WonderCon, you could feel the geek excitement as Pine sits down in the captains chair for the first time. I’m actually surprised at some of the plot points that the trailer ruins, for instance, the planet that implodes into itself. And the space battle between Nero’s ship and the Enterprise looks both epic and insane. And how about Michael Giacchino’s awesome score?!
