Man, they are marketing the hell out of this movie.

It's understandable considering the uncertainty of the property. Watchmen lacks guaranteed bankability that a property like Batman or Spider-Man has.

definitely, and it doesn't have marquee actors to sell it on. it's just too bad that most of this marketing is not going to hit the general public.

IronMatt13's correct. While myself, someone who doesn't divulge in comics a great deal at all has heard of and read Watchmen, ask 10 people on the street and you'll probably find about 3, maybe 4 of them have heard of it, and even fewer will have read it.

Hell, I recently met someone who claimed to be a comic book nerd (and for all intents and purposes, was one) who hadn't even heard of Alan Moore, let alone Watchmen (which surprised the hell out of me because we both live in the same town as Alan Moore).

Frankly, WB needs to market the hell out of Watchmen if they want to see a return, which, after negotiations with Fox, will be very hard to do now.

I think it's just a modulated voice, much like Batman in the Nolan movies. Is it actually Jackie Earle Haley? Probably not...

Not, strictly speaking, a 10 minute trailer, but simply 10 minutes worth of footage split between the 7 videos. Still, pretty fun way to get rid of boredom, and you get some nice videos as reward.

Admittedly, the women one was weird (because it looked like Rorschach to me)...it took me 3 tries to get that one.

Somehow i get a boner everytime Rorschach says something verbal to me.

I mean I understand about why they are marketing this much, it's just getting a little excessive for my taste.

Well, the beauty is, you can ignore the majority of it. I've been avoiding most of the behind the scenes stuff and the clips that are being thrown at us, just so that most of it's a surprise when I see it this Friday.

But at the same time, the marketing is doing it's job at getting people into the cinema who otherwise wouldn't be there.

As for the comic book nerd, all I can do is shake my head in disappointment of her.
