Ryan said that because he's short on time and can't pronounce all the Slumdog kids names he will instead just show a card with all their names to the camera instead. He then asks them to all shout their names at the same time, they dont. Then he asks the youngest kid his name, and the kid answers, and Ryan asks him a followup question and no response. One of the older actors has to explain to Ryan that he doesn't speak english.

Even if that young actor could speak English, the question he asked, 'What was it like working on Slumdog Millionaire?', is such a broad, ridiculous question to ask, ESPECIALLY as he said they were short of time. I mean, what kind of answer was he expecting, exactly? I know he shouldn't be considered a journalist (we're talking bottom of the journalist barrel here) but surely he must have some of the basic knowledge to understand you ask questions that will produce more specific, concise answers. He truly is a pathetic, useless TOOL.

Calm down. He did not do an incredible job interviewing them, but A. he is answering to a showrunner and I'm sure they were not TOP PRIORITY, and B. he was trying to be "cute" with them, as he is not the best interviewer or the best with handling children.

See pat, that I would call him a douche about. But when there are a ton of people coming down the red carpet and he has just a minute and no one prepped him of the fact they dont speak english but some do... not Ryan's fault. I think he did his job to the best he could

if he had a card with their names written on it in advance then he clearly knew that he was going to be "interviewing" them so he could have found out how to say their names or if any of them spoke english

But working as a producer of a morning show on radio, I am supposed to prep the Talent with any needed information and more than just names. Where was his producer with a pronunciation guide on the names and which ones to actually talk to.

Being a producer, I blame the producer on this NOT the talent
