The NeverEnding Story Van

Growing up a kid of the 1980’s, I loved The NeverEnding Story. I mean, who didn’t? But as much as I liked Wolfgang Petersen’s fantasy adventure film, I would not, I repeat, would not turn my van into a homage to the movie. But apparently, I’m not this guy. Bought in the Summer of 1979 for $7900, and originally themed “Stairway to Heaven”, the owner decided to customize the van around The NeverEnding Story in 1989. The first film is represented on the passenger side, while NeverEnding Story II is pictured on the driver’s side. More photos after the jump.

  • Wow. The Neverending Story is one of those films that still disturbs me when I watch it in certain parts. (Artex dying) It puts it right alongside Roger Rabbit (Christopher Lloyd getting up after being run over by a steamroller) in the hall of films that still rouse childhood feelings in me.
  • This seriously made my day, no I mean my whole week. This movie is such a creation out of my own head. Wolfgang Peterson is a fricking pimp.
I want to purchase this van NOW
  • haha i LOVED that movie as a kid!!! It's so unbelievably cheesy now, lol.
  • I was creeped out as a child by the film, too. Especially in the forests when Artax (the horse) got sunk into the quicksand, that was really sad! I got so upset, lol.
  • Woah, I loved this movie, but not sure if I would pimp my car out with the images.
  • Rena

    Respect my tweets, Peter Sciretta!
  • Yeah the part where the horse died was very hard to handle and somewhat disturbing. I wouldn't show my kids this movie.
  • I can't even image how someone could do this, I almost want to imagine it as some sort of ruse but it's not, God help us all.
  • Ed P.
The Southern Oracle part scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Gnarly nerfage on the good shiny knight.
  • Palmer
The universe would implode if that man actually has a wife and kid.
