Six Watchmen Collectible Covers

watchmen covers
Next week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly will feature six different collectible Watchmen covers. The full cover story is now online on EW.com.

  • i want all six!
  • Huh, I have a subscription and I wonder which one I will get. Every single news of Watchmen just makes the wait feel longer and worse.
  • anything to appease the fanboys. but what about the fangirls? Dr. Manhattan in Playgirl? i'll be quiet now.
  • night owl's cover is the coolest looking imo.

after EW released that shitty top 25 active director's list, they put this out to make up for it. fair enough.
  • I used to love collectible promotion stuff like this. It's even more fun when you start to see them turn up on eBay a decade later. There will probably be a reboot by then.
  • I'm getting an Ozy one. He just looks like he belongs on the front of magazines. It's so true to his character. But.. the description is worrying:
"Sex, Violence, and Superheroes! Your Complete Guide to The Outrageous New Movie"

Outrageous... I mean, I would never think of Watchmen as outrageous...
  • that guy looks like Robert Downey Jr so much it drives me crazy
  • *I mean The Comedian
  • BALLIN.

God i cannot wait any longer.
  • Thrillhouse
They also say, in the article, and I'm para-phrasing, "These heroes don't let the bad guys explain themselves. They blow them into chunks of blood and guts."

Wow. Makes me wonder if ANYONE who worked on the article is familiar with the material. I'm guessing they are referring to Manhattan being utilized by the government to vaporize the Vietcong?

Anyway, the average viewer is going to get QUITE a shocker when they find out how cerebral this thing is. Unless, of course, Snyder didn't capture any of that.
  • Thrillhouse
I have to say, this is the first time I've ever liked how Goode's Ozymandias looked. And I don't just "like" it. I think it looks GREAT here. Not old enough, but his image is well-realized, I think.
  • roshow
Ozy looks like Robin from Batman Forever.
  • Hahah I was just thinking that...eww, bad memories...
  • Palmer
Seriously, what makes them so collectible?
  • But that can only be a good thing. ; )
  • ozymanbateman
I really like Ozymandias' character redesign; he's definitely photogenic which is good since as a person of power, he's supposed to be liked by almost everyone. I like his out-of-costume look too; someone on here in the comments before said that it looks like he could easily blend in with the likes of Patrick Bateman, which I think is how he should look.
  • My favorite one is Rorschach's but that doesn't matter because EW doesn't reach my country and is it just me or Ozymandias's new costume is a bit weird? Edna Mode would be disappointed of him and Night Owl.
  • I subscribe to Creative Screenwriting Magazine, and they haven't sent me an issue in a long time. It's kind of hard for me to get exited about magazines right now.
  • You should just forget about the magazines and focus on these EW covers. Either that or the movie that's going to be here in a 2 weeks.
  • night owl is the best... manhattan just looks out of place.
  • unfortunately you're right.......
  • because Entertainment says so... other than that i have no idea.
  • I've learned my lesson.... I won't be "collecting" them all.
  • starscream9289
So I'm guessing The Comedian isn't gonna be wearing his trademark leather mask?
  • All of them is great !
  • Silk Specter is so so sexy...but Night Owl does have the best cover...
  • Oh that's cool. Malin Akerman looks pretty good on her cover.
  • I think I might see if I can get the Rorschach and The Comedian covers/magazines delivered abroad and then just off the front-covers and stick them on my wall in the study. :D As for the rest of the EW magazines, I could just cut them up and let my younger cousin use them for bedding in her hamster cage...
